Jake Peavy (ribs) has been scratched from his start Sunday against Oakland. Peavy left his start Tuesday with pain in his left ribs and will miss at least one start. The White Sox will wait until the results of Peavy's MRI are known before making a decision on whether to place him on the disabled list.

Jake Peavy will undergo an MRI on Wednesday after leaving his start Tuesday with pain in his left ribs. X-rays detected no fracture, but the White Sox want to be sure. If Peavy goes on the DL, it seems likely that Hector Santiago will return to the rotation.

Jake Peavy left Tuesday's start against the Mariners in the third inning with an apparent injury. It's not clear what's wrong with the right-hander, but Peavy's velocity was down all night and he allowed five runs on seven hits and left with a runner on second base. Obviously, given Peavy's injury history, fantasy owners should be concerned. The White Sox will provide an update on his status before long.

Jake Peavy threw a complete game Saturday as the White Sox won 2-1 over the Marlins. Peavy did not allow a run until Derek Dietrich took him deep in the top of the ninth inning. The veteran right-hander struck out five batters and allowed only six hits in his nine total frames. He is now 6-2 with a 2.97 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 63/15 K/BB ratio in 60 2/3 innings this season. The Cubs are on tap for him next.

Jake Peavy was charged with four earned runs on four hits over six innings in a loss Sunday against the Angels. Peavy struggled with his control (five walks), but allowed just four hits and had seven strikeouts. After giving up consecutive two run innings, he retired the last seven batters he faced. It ends a streak of five-straight games in which Peavy had surrendered two or fewer runs. Peavy shouldn't have any trouble getting back on track in his next start Saturday vs. the Marlins.

Jake Peavy allowed two runs over seven innings as the White Sox beat the Twins 4-2 on Tuesday. Peavy was masterful again, allowing just five hits while striking out six. The right-hander now owns a 5-1 record, 2.96 ERA and 1.01 WHIP through seven starts and has only turned in one clunker of the bunch. After missing a start in early May due to back discomfort, Peavy seems to be feeling just fine. The struggling Angels are next on the agenda for Peavy.

Jake Peavy allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings in the White Sox' 6-3 win over the Mets on Wednesday. Peavy hadn't started since April 26 due to back discomfort, but he seemed to be fine Wednesday. Peavy allowed just three hits while striking out six, and he earned his fourth win of the year as a result. The right-hander now owns a 3.03 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, and if he can stay healthy -- always the caveat when it comes to Peavy -- he should have another great year. His next start will come Tuesday against the Twins.

Jake Peavy (back) has been cleared to make his next scheduled start, Wednesday against the Mets. Peavy was scratched from an outing last week because of back discomfort but he made it through a bullpen session on Monday morning in Kansas City and was given a thumbs up from the White Sox medical staff. The 31-year-old right-hander is 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39/6 K/BB ratio in 32 innings (five starts) this season. He's a safe fantasy start in New York.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura wouldn't rule out that Jake Peavy (back) might have to go on the disabled list. Peavy was scratched from his start Thursday and may be dealing with a setback. He'll continue to get treatment before determining the next step. If Peavy needs to be place on the DL, Chris Sale or Hector Santiago could be moved up to start in his absence.

Jake Peavy (back) will not start for the White Sox on Monday afternoon against the Royals. Peavy was scratched from his May 2 start due to back stiffness and still isn't feeling too hot. White Sox manager Robin Ventura suggested Chris Sale or Hector Santiago could make the start in Peavy's absence. The veteran right-hander could be headed to the 15-day DL.
