The Athletics officially announced Lamb's signing Monday and added him to the 28-man active roster ahead of their doubleheader with the Mariners, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb agreed in principle to a deal with Oakland a couple of days ago after being released by the Diamondbacks, and after clearing the COVID-19 intake testing process, he'll be ready to make his team debut Monday. The Athletics haven't revealed their plans for the lefty-hitting Lamb, but he could have a good chance to emerge as a strong-side platoon option at third base after Matt Chapman (hip) recently underwent season-ending surgery. Nate Orf and Vimael Machin will also be in the mix for playing time at the hot corner as the Athletics look to replace Chapman. Lamb isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Mariners, as Orf draws the start at third base.

Lamb is expected to sign a contract with the A's once he officially clears release waivers, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Thursday and has yet to officially clear release waivers, but once he does he's expected to sign with the A's. It's natural fit for Oakland, as it just lost Matt Chapman (hip) for the season and Chad Pinder (hamstring) is likely headed to the injured list. Lamb went 5-for-43 with one double, six walks and 17 strikeouts in 18 games before being DFA'd, but he could provide some depth for the A's at third base following the injuries.

Lamb was designated for assignment Thursday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb had gotten just one start this month and is hitting .116 with zero home runs and a 34 percent strikeout rate in 43 at-bats. It's quite possible he will catch on elsewhere for a two-week audition down the stretch. Pavin Smith will take his place on the active roster.

Lamb served as the designated hitter Sunday and went 0-for-2 with a walk and was caught stealing in a 4-1 loss to San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks gave Lamb what is becoming an increasingly rare start the day before the trade deadline. It was his third start in eight games, and he's hitless in all three (0-for-8). He's a pending free agent and a prime candidate to be traded Monday, although his .100/.217/.125 does not make Lamb an attractive target.

Lamb started at third base and went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 10-1 win over Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
The surging Diamondbacks' offense, which has produced 63 runs over the last eight games, rubbed off on Lamb, who entered the game with just two hits in 29 at-bats (.069). He got the rare start in the field, as everyday third baseman Eduardo Escobar covered second base for the resting Ketel Marte.

Lamb isn't in the lineup Monday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Even though right-hander Chris Bassitt is on the mound for Oakland, Lamb will take a seat for the sixth time in the past seven games. Kevin Cron will serve as the designated hitter Monday.

Lamb will not start Monday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb will sit even with a righty (Jon Gray) starting for Colorado. With just two hits in 24 at-bats this season, he's hardly earned a regular role. Christian Walker starts at first base Monday, with David Peralta serving as the designated hitter.

Lamb is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old started the past two games and went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts, extending his hitless streak to 22 at-bats. Daulton Varsho will serve as the designated hitter Sunday. Lamb's ongoing struggles figure to continue limiting his playing time.

Lamb made his second consecutive start Saturday and went 0-for-2 in a 3-2 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic that he wanted to give Lamb a string of at-bats to dislodge him from a slump. "I felt like I could pile up a couple of days in a row for Jake and we could get that sweet swing working again in a way that we've seen it work," Lovullo said. After a double and a walk in the season opener, Lamb is 0-for-22 with one walk, one hit-by-pitch and 10 strikeouts.

Lamb is not starting Thursday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb, who is just 1-for-18 with eight strikeouts this season, will sit for a fifth straight game. Andy Young is serving as the DH in this one.
