Updating a prior post, the Mets will skip deGrom's scheduled start Monday to work on mechanical issues and provide the righty additional rest, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets' data, through use of the Trackman technology, showed that deGrom is releasing his pitches from a point significantly higher, and more toward the first-base line than he has in the past. As a result, his entire body is "falling off" toward first, flattening his throws and making them more hittable, resulting in 13 runs allowed on 25 hits his last two outings. DeGrom dealt with a similar problem earlier this season before resolving the issue. The Mets hope that similar can occur in the next 10 days with the time off also benefitting deGrom.

The Mets are leaning towards skipping deGrom's scheduled start Monday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
A final decision has yet to be made, but manager Terry Collins remarked that deGrom might be fatigued after he was hit hard for the second straight start Wednesday. That notion is born out by the 1.5 mph drop in fastball velocity coupled with a decrease in spin rate. Seth Lugo on short rest, Sean Gilmartin, Gabriel Ynoa, Logan Verrett and Rafael Montero are the candidates to fill in for deGrom

Manager Terry Collins said Friday that the Mets are "leaning toward" skipping deGrom's next start, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has been clobbered for 25 hits in his last two starts (spanning 9.2 innings) and Collins suggested after Wednesday's outing that he thought the right-hander looked fatigued. It sounds like the team will be proactive and skip deGrom on Monday, but he is not believed to be dealing with any physical issues, so owners should expect to have him available for close to a normal workload down the stretch.

DeGrom (7-7) was ripped for five runs on a dozen hits -- including three homers -- and two walks over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The third-year hurler has been one of the best in baseball as usual this year -- up until his last two starts, that is. In a span of just 9.2 innings against the Giants and Cards, deGrom has allowed 13 runs on an astounding 25 hits, ballooning his ERA and WHIP away from elite status. Unlike other pitchers who have struggled recently, deGrom doesn't seem to be hiding an injury; he's just been throwing balls straight down the pipe lately. The Mets may look to push his next start back a day or skip his turn in the rotation once just to get him a bit of extra rest to get his location right again, so his fantasy owners should look out for news on that front. For now, he's scheduled to start Monday against Miami.

DeGrom (7-6) was smacked around for eight runs on 13 hits and a walk over five innings in Thursday's road loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The hit and run totals were both career worsts for deGrom, and this amazingly marks the first time in his three seasons that he's allowed double-digit hits twice in a campaign. This start is about as far out of character for deGrom as it gets -- he allowed one more run Thursday than he'd given up in his prior six outings put together, and that includes a five-run blow-up back on July 23. In fact, this outing and that one together account for more than 30 percent of his earned runs for the season. He'll look to return to more typical form Wednesday against St. Louis.

Degrom gave up just one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine, but settled for his second consecutive no-decision in Saturday's extra-inning 3-2 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing a leadoff walk in the first, the right-hander retired 12 straight batters before allowing another baserunner in the fifth. deGrom's brilliant performance came undone two innings later when he surrendered a game-tying solo shot to Yangervis Solarte, but was picked up by his offense in the bottom of the inning to put him back out on front. It was all in vain, however, as closer Jeremys Familiar blew the save with two outs in the ninth on a home run to Wil Myers. While the Mets would eventually go on to win the game in extra innings, it must be somewhat bittersweet for deGrom, who now has just one win in his last four starts despite allowing just two earned runs and 26 strikeouts over that same span.

DeGrom (7-5) gave up just one run on seven hits and two walks over 6,2 innings Sunday, striking out three, but came away with a no-decision in a 3-1 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
He held Detroit scoreless through six innings before a couple of lucky bounces put runners on base and forced Terry Collins to go to his bullpen, only for Jerry Blevins to allow the tying run to score, which got charged to deGrom. It's his third straight quality start and 15th in 20 outings, but deGrom will try to get back in the win column as well Saturday at home against the Padres.

DeGrom (7-5) was masterful Tuesday against the Yankees, tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out eight and earning the win.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has seen little run support from the Mets offense this season, earning just his seventh win Tuesday despite posting a sterling 2.41 ERA over 19 starts. The Mets were able to scrape seven runs off Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka, even with shiny new bat Jay Bruce going 0-for-4. DeGrom has been fantastic in July outside of his July 23rd start, allowing just three earned runs in five starts excluding that one poor outing. He has an outstanding 117:26 K:BB ratio, and should continue to rack up wins if the Mets offense can put up any meaningful run support behind him.

DeGrom shut the Rockies out over seven innings Thursday, allowing just five hits and a walk while striking out six, but he received no decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old righty left with a 1-0 lead, only to see Mets closer Jeurys Familia blow the save for the second straight night. DeGrom was coming off a rare dud in Miami over the weekend, so it's nice to see him bounce back with another sharp outing. Of course, his fantasy owners expect nothing less, as his ERA's now down to 2.56 thanks to deGrom overcoming the control issues that bugged him for a while early in the season. He'll next pitch in the Subway Series against the Yankees on Tuesday.

DeGrom (6-5) allowed five runs on 10 hits in 3.2 innings during Saturday's loss to the Marlins. He also struck out five and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander inched closer to averaging a strikeout per inning this season, but there's not much else positive to take away from this outing. DeGrom needed 94 pitches to record 11 outs, as he failed to get out of the fourth inning. After giving up just 10 hits in his previous 21 innings, he allowed a season-high 10 on Saturday. The five runs he yielded were also a season-high. DeGrom will look to get back on track Thursday against the Rockies.
