Nova (elbow) will likely join the Yankees following one more rehab start, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Nova would probably join the rotation upon his return, sending Adam Warren either to the bullpen or back to the minors. He should further bolster the Yankees' rotation as the season rolls on, and could finally begin to pay dividends to owners.

Nova (elbow) is scheduled to throw 85 pitches in his next rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre over the weekend, The Westchester Journal News reports. Nova was stretched out to 75 pitches in his first start -- coming at High-A Tampa -- and hit 95 mph. He'll likely need to be able to pass the 90-pitch plateau at some point in his rehab before being activated, but it appears Nova remains on track to rejoin the big league club before the end of June.

Nova (elbow) threw 91-95 mph during his first rehab start Monday with High-A Tampa, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. Nova threw 75 pitches over 4.2 innings, striking out three batters and allowing two runs (one earned) on just three hits. Given his pitch count, along with statements made by Yankees manager Joe Girardi a few weeks back, Nova may only need two or three more rehab appearances before joining the big-league rotation.

Nova (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Tampa on Monday, The Westchester Journal News reports. Nova has been pitching in extended spring training games, but he's now ready to begin the final process in his recovery from Tommy John surgery over 13 months ago. The 30-day rehab clock will begin once he makes his first appearance Monday, so Nova seems set to rejoin the big league team either toward the end of June or beginning of July.

Nova (elbow) pitched at extended spring training Tuesday, and he'll likely start a rehab assignment with High-A Tampa next week, the New York Post's Joel Sherman reports. Nova tossed three innings outdoors, before rain forced him inside for his final two innings of work. Yankees manager Joe Girardi previously suggested that Nova's rehab assignment may only last two or three outings, making it possible the right-hander will join the big-league squad in mid-to-late June.

Nova (elbow) will make one more start at extended spring training before beginning a rehab assignment, Brendan Kuty of The Star-Ledger reports. There was previously hope Nova could start a rehab assignment this week, but it seems the Yankees are just being cautious, given that no setback has been reported. Nova is thus on track to join the rotation at some point in mid-to-late June, as Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the right-hander may only need two or three rehab starts. Even if Nova's assignment stretches longer, he should be ready by the end of June.

Nova (elbow), who threw 42 pitches in an extended spring training game Monday, may begin a rehab assignment next week, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Nova is scheduled to pitch in another extended spring training game Saturday, after which the Yankees may start his 30-day clock for a rehab assignment. While Nova is likely still a few weeks away from joining the team's rotation, Yankees manager Joe Girardi recently said that the right-hander may only require two or three rehab starts. Nova could thus be ready by early-to-mid June.

Nova (elbow) felt good after throwing 33 pitches at extended spring training Tuesday, Newsday's Erik Boland reports. Nova is scheduled to pitch again Monday, and he said he's anxious to get the 30-day rehab clock started. Yankees manager Joe Girardi recently said that Nova may only need two or three more rehab outings, making a return in late May or early June quite possible. The latter seems more likely, given that Nova only threw 33 pitches Tuesday.

Nova (elbow) is scheduled to throw three innings in an extended spring game Tuesday, The Westchester Journal News reports. Nova has already worked his way up to two innings thus far in his rehab, but manager Joe Girardi indicated he may not need to get stretched out much more. Girardi mentioned that Nova "might need or two more" rehab starts, so it appears as though the 28-year-old is on track to rejoin the big league club toward the end of May.

Nova (threw) threw two innings in a rookie-league game Thursday, Meredith Marakovits of the YES Network reports. Nova has progressed as expected, and he's still on track to join the Yankees in late May or early June. Adam Warren is the leading candidate to lose his spot in the rotation, as Chase Whitley has been fantastic through two starts.
