Nova (elbow) threw one inning in a simulated game Monday and could pitch in an extended spring game Saturday, the Associated Press reports. Nova has been able to steadily increase the level of activity of late as he's been throwing live batting practice sessions throughout April. Pitching in an extended spring game would mark a big next step, and if he's able to get through that without incident, a rehab stint could follow shortly after as the 28-year-old appears to still be on track for a return by the start of June.

Nova (elbow) threw 35 pitches in a live batting practice session Tuesday, The Westchester Journal News reports. Nova has been able to get through a few batting practices against live hitters at extended spring training now, and seems to be getting by without any setbacks. The goal of returning to the big league club by the start of June seems to still be within reach and a rehab assignment could begin early in May.

Nova (elbow) is approximately six weeks away from rejoining the Yankees' rotation, Newsday's Erik Boland reports. He threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Friday and said he can see the end of the tunnel of his journey to return from Tommy John surgery. The Yankees could really use a boost in the rotation as CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka do not look capable of returning the top-of-the-rotation production the Yankees had been banking on. If you have DL spots in your league and are looking for a pitcher to stash, Nova is a strong candidate.

Nova has been transferred to the 60-day DL by the Yankees. Nova's transfer is likely to just make room for Matt Tracy on the 40-man roster and is not reflective of any setback. His return time is still on track to fall in the late May to June window.

Nova (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL, MLB.com reports. Nova is still awhile away from returning to game action in his comeback from Tommy John surgery, but has been throwing bullpen sessions. Nova looks on track to make his season debut on the earlier end of the May-to-June timetable.

Nova has thrown four bullpen sessions this spring and has been able to work in breaking balls, The Westchester Journal News reports. Nova has reported that his arm has felt great after each session and is encouraged by his progress as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old is still a while away from returning to game action, but as long as everything continues to progress according to plan, Nova should be able to make his season debut on the earlier end of the May-to-June timetable.

Nova (elbow) threw curveballs for the first time this spring during Tuesday's 35-pitch bullpen session, Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record reports. Nova said the six curveballs were "perfect", given that it's his first time throwing them in nearly a year. He seems to be making good progress, and he previously said that he expects to join the team no later than June.

Nova threw a bullpen session Tuesday and will throw again next week, the Journal News reports. Nova has repeatedly reported that he doesn't feel any lingering pain or tightness, and said he's feeling better every day after the latest session. He'll mix in breaking balls in his bullpen session next week, but has already begun throwing off speed pitches off flat ground with no further issues arising.
