Nova (7-6) gave up five earned runs on six hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Rays. He struck out three.

The right-hander saw the normally anemic Rays offense hit him relatively hard, with a pair of first-inning solo homers by Logan Forsythe and Corey Dickerson spearheading the effort. Nova had gone into Friday riding high after a pair of strong starts versus the Orioles and Giants, but the five runs he surrendered were the most he'd given up since yielding six to the Rockies on June 21. He'll look to bounce back against the Mets next Wednesday.
