Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Rangers are among the teams talking to the Athletics about left-hander Gio Gonzalez. Olney lists left-hander Martin Perez as a prospect the A's would likely target in any potential deal. With the starting pitching market drying up after the C.J. Wilson and Mark Buehrle signings, Gonzalez has appeal to a lot of teams, especially since he's quite affordable. The Blue Jays, Nationals, Tigers, Diamondbacks, Royals, Marlins, Reds and Yankees have also expressed some degree of interest in the lefty.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle hears that the Athletics and Blue Jays might add a third team to the mix in a potential Gio Gonzalez trade. According to Slusser, the Athletics seek "at least two high-value prospects and a few mid-range prospects" in exchange for the 26-year-old left-hander. The Blue Jays have one of the deepest farm systems in the game, but it's unclear whether they will be willing to give up more than one of their top prospects in a potential deal. If the A's can't find the right match, they'll have no problem hanging onto Gonzalez and resuming talks around the trade deadline next year.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Blue Jays are interested in trading for Athletics left-hander Gio Gonzalez. The 26-year-old southpaw has, not surprisingly, draw significant interest from around the league. But, A's general manager Billy Beane will be asking for a large package of prospects for him, as Gonzalez is still relatively cheap for the time being since he's arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter. The Nationals, Tigers, Diamondbacks, Royals, Marlins, Reds and Yankees have all expressed some interest in the lefty.

According to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM, the Phillies have dangled Domonic Brown in trade talks for Athletics' left-hander Gio Gonzalez.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal states that the Phillies are among five teams in the hunt for Gio Gonzalez. The Tigers, Diamondbacks, Marlins, and Reds are the other known pursuers. With Cole Hamels signed only through 2012, the addition of Gonzalez would give Philadelphia enough depth to trade Hamels or let him walk after next season. Of course, Gonzalez has a brief but storied trade history with the Phillies: he came over in the Jim Thome deal after the 2005 season, and then was shuttled to the White Sox in the Freddy Garcia trade the following offseason.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Tigers are "trying to make a strong push" for Athletics' left-hander Gio Gonzalez. Slusser has confirmed the Tigers' interest via three sources. However, they aren't sure their proposal would be able to match that of the Yankees. Gonzalez, 26, posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while striking out 197 batters over 202 innings this past season. The southpaw is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.

Jane Lee of MLB.com reports that Athletics general manager Billy Beane "shot down" rumors of the Royals' pursuit of Gio Gonzalez. It could be typical gamesmanship from Beane, or maybe the Royals really aren't one of the teams involved on the left-hander. Gonzalez reportedly can be had for the right price, but that price will be a pretty large package of prospects. The Yankees reportedly have some interest.

Bob Klapisch of the Bergen Record reports that the Yankees have spoken to the Athletics about the availability of Gio Gonzalez but that something would happen only in an "overpay" situation. Not surprisingly, A's general manager Billy Beane would ask for a boatload in return for his young left-hander. Gonzalez is sure to draw a number of suitors if he's made available, but it sounds like the price might need to drop in order for serious discussions to begin.

Joe Stiglich of MLB.com reports that the Royals are interested in Athletics left-hander Gio Gonzalez. A's general manager Billy Beane is saying, at least publicly, that he's not interested in trading Gonzalez, but he'll surely do so for the right package, and the Royals have the prospects to get a deal done. Gonzalez posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while striking out 197 batters this past season but will be arbitration-eligible for the first time, so the A's might unload him before he starts to get expensive.

The Marlins have made it clear that Mike Stanton is untouchable during initial trade talks for Gio Gonzalez. Earlier this week it was reported that the Marlins were not convinced that Oakland would be willing to part with Gonzalez since he'll be under team control through 2015. However, the Athletics could still hold out for a premium deal involving prospects. There have also been conflicting reports as to whether Logan Morrison is available or whether any package containing him has already been ruled out. The Dan Haren trade from 2007, which netted five prospects for Oakland, is being used as a comparison.
