Joe Stiglich of MLB.com reports that the Royals are interested in Athletics left-hander Gio Gonzalez. A's general manager Billy Beane is saying, at least publicly, that he's not interested in trading Gonzalez, but he'll surely do so for the right package, and the Royals have the prospects to get a deal done. Gonzalez posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while striking out 197 batters this past season but will be arbitration-eligible for the first time, so the A's might unload him before he starts to get expensive.
