According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, the Mets "continue to monitor" Giancarlo Stanton.
It's a safe assumption that many other teams are doing the same. To acquire Stanton from the Marlins, the Mets would surely have to fork over top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler and top catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud, and maybe even one additional youngster. Martino also believes that the Mets have looked into acquiring star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies.

Giancarlo Stanton walked three times and struck out once Monday against the Mets.
Stanton ended the night with a .174 average that rated as the lowest in the Marlins lineup. After seven games, he's yet to drive in a run, and he has an 11/7 K/BB in 23 official at-bats. Maybe he wouldn't be doing any better if he played for a major league team, but his owners are right to be concerned about his situation.

Giancarlo Stanton clubbed two solo homers Tuesday in the Marlins' 8-5 victory over the Nationals.
Stanton didn't perform as hoped in the World Baseball Classic, but he's been excellent in Marlins camp, hitting .371 with three homers and a 4/6 K/BB ratio in 35 at-bats. It's going to be interesting to see if he can keep it up in the regular season, as he's likely to be pitched around quite frequently.

Giancarlo Stanton had an RBI single Friday in Team USA's loss to Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic.
Team USA was held scoreless until Stanton singled home Joe Mauer in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Marlins' sluggerr had a chance to do some real damage one inning later, but he popped out to shallow left field with the bases loaded. Team USA left seven runners in scoring position on the night, a bitter pill to swallow in a one-run loss which eliminates them from the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and a walk Thursday against the Cardinals.
This is something we may only see a few times over the course of Stanton's career: he finished a home run shy of the cycle. Stanton, who will play right field for Team USA in the WBC, is 6-for-12 with a homer this spring.

Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said Monday that Giancarlo Stanton will not be made a long-term offer this year.
Stanton won't be arbitration-eligible until next winter and is currently under team control through the 2016 season, so Loria's comments come as no surprise. "I don't think this is the year to go to Giancarlo with an offer," Loria told reporters. "We have to let him play it out, let him feel more comfortable."

Giancarlo Stanton did not suffer a concussion when he was hit on the back of the head and at the top of his neck by a pitch from prospect right-hander Jose Fernandez on Wednesday during a simulated game.
Great news. It was a very scary moment for Stanton and the Marlins, but it appears disaster was averted. He should be ready to go when the exhibition schedule begins.

Giancarlo Stanton is optimistic that he's OK after he was hit on the back of the head and at the top of his neck by a pitch from prospect right-hander Jose Fernandez on Wednesday during a simulated game.
Stanton left the field after he was hit and had the back of his neck wrapped in an ice pack in the clubhouse. "I wasn't dizzy or nothing. I saw a little greyness, fuzziness on the outside of my eyes," explained Stanton. "But it's subsiding now." The young slugger does not expect to miss any time, but the Marlins aren't going to take any chances. Look for an update on his status Thursday.

Giancarlo Stanton left the field Wednesday after he was hit in the helmet by a pitch from prospect right-hander Jose Fernandez during a simulated game.
No word yet on Stanton's condition. However, the Marlins will surely send their young slugger for tests just to be on the safe side.
