Stanton is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton has yet to really get anything going with the bat, so manager Don Mattingly decided to give him his first day off of the season Thursday in hopes of providing a spark. Ichiro Suzuki will get the start in right field Thursday in Stanton's place.

Stanton went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored on Monday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton is off to a slow start this year, hitting just .238 early on. Although the slugger has three home runs in 42 at-bats, he has no other extra-base hits thus far. Stanton is a career .269 hitter and has prodigious power. His bat should pick up sooner rather than later.

Stanton popped a two-run home run off of Mets' starter Steven Matz as the Marlins cruised to a 10-3 victory Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton's two-run homer sent Matz to the showers before he could even get out of the second inning, capping a seven-run frame for the Marlins. It was Giancarlo's second home run of the season and he also added a walk and a run scored on the night. Slashing .286/.333/.571 through the season first five games, Staton is primed for another monster year batting out of the cleanup spot in Miami.

Stanton slugged a two-run home run in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
He also drew a walk over five plate appearances in the Marlins' season opener. Stanton gave the team a shot in the arm Tuesday and they eventually tied things up before losing the game in extras. Stanton showed no signs of rust despite missing the final 88 games of the 2015 season and remains a constant threat to leave the yard.

Stanton (knee) is serving as the Marlins' DH for their Grapefruit League game Sunday against the Mets, Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins had shelved Stanton due to a sore knee over the past few days, but after upping his activity of late, it looks like he's back at close to full strength. He'll be eased back into action by only hitting in Sunday's game, but look for him to return to his usual duties in the outfield before long.

Stanton (knee) is on track to start for the Marlins on Sunday, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton has been held out of action since early this week due to a knee ailment, but was able to take some swings and return to light running by Tuesday. If all goes according to planned, Miami should have their most formidable power threat available for spring action before the weekend comes to pass. Fortunately, this doesn't appear to be an issue that poses a risk of lingering into the regular season.

Stanton (knee) hit in a cage Tuesday and also did some light running, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton was held out of Monday's spring game and could miss a few more contests, but he's merely considered day-to-day due to soreness in his knee. More important, there haven't been any reported issues with the left wrist that didn't recover from surgery as quickly as expected last season. Now more than eighth months removed from the procedure, Stanton has been swinging a bat without any pain since at least November or December.

Stanton (knee) will not play in Monday's spring game due to a sore right knee, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Details regarding Stanton's setback are slim, but it appears the Marlins simply want to prevent him from traveling for Monday's exhibition contest. Stanton should be considered day-to-day until he returns to the field, but at this point it does not seem this injury will threaten his status for Opening Day.

Stanton (broken hamate bone) has begun swinging pain-free and is expected to be healthy heading into spring training, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to the report, Stanton has begun to "rev up" his hitting program, which is taking place in California. Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill seemed optimistic regarding Stanton's health saying, "He took 60 swings off the tee, which is just part of the first step in his offseason hitting program" adding, "he said he felt great." Amidst a tumultuous offseason, the Marlins are in desperate need of some good news and the slugger's health sure seems to qualify as such. However, considering Stanton has played in more than 123 games just twice in six major league season, fantasy players fixated on his first-round upside should proceed with caution.

Stanton (hand) was officially ruled out for the season by manager Dan Jennings on Monday, the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been obvious for some time that Stanton would not make it back to game action after his rehab from a surgery to remove a broken hamate bone progressed more slowly than expected. Stanton was noted to have an abnormal amount of scar tissue in his left wrist and struggled to regain strength in the hand while taking batting practice over the last several weeks. He'll now have a full offseason to let the wrist heal and get back to full strength. The slugger's 2015 season ends with a beastly .265/.346/.606 triple slash with 27 home runs and 67 RBI over just 318 plate appearances (74 games). Still just 25 years old, Stanton's first-round upside will remain intact in 2016, but it's troubling that he's played more than 123 games just twice in his six major league seasons.
