Gattis is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis has started five straight games, but he hasn't garnered a hit in the past three and lowered his batting average to .216 on the season. He'll cede the start at designated hitter to Preston Tucker for the evening.

Gattis went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs and two RBI Friday at the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis' first homer of the season gave the Astros an early lead in a game they'd go on to lose. He's finally getting into a groove at the plate, as he's not only hit in four straight games, but during that time, he's gone 7-for-11 to raise his slash line to .256/.267/.419.

Gattis is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite producing two straight two-hit efforts, Gattis will get another day off after starting off the season batting a mere .222 with only one RBI. He'll cede the designated hitting duties to Preston Tucker for the day.

Gattis is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will get the day off Thursday after serving as the Astros' DH for the past three days. The Astros will deploy left-handed bat Preston Tucker to draw the favorable matchup Thursday against righty A.J Griffin.

Gattis may catch in a game in the next 7-to-10 days, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. "The next step is to get him in some games," manager A.J. Hinch said. "The only uncomfortable part for me is having him do it at the major league level, having not done it for a year."
EDGE Analysis
Gattis last stepped behind the plate on Sept. 28, 2014 as a member of the Braves. In the following offseason, he was dealt to the Astros, who opted to use him at designated hitter and occasionally in left field. After four appearances this season, he's slashing a measly .167/.167/.167, so Hinch may want Gattis to get into the swing of things at the plate before experimenting with his positional versatility. In the meantime, expect Erik Kratz to spell Jason Castro whenever the latter requires a respite.

Gattis is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Gattis will be replaced by Preston Tucker at the DH spot Saturday with the Astros facing Justin Verlander and the Tigers. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Friday's matchup and is now 1-for-8 on the year. The Astros have been trying him back out at catcher of late, so he could gain eligibility there in the near future if manager A.J Hinch opts to plug him in behind the plate in place of Jason Castro.

Gattis is back in the lineup Friday against Detroit, serving as the DH and batting sixth.
EDGE Analysis
His second straight absence Thursday, following an 0-for-4, three-strikeout performance in his debut, raised some eyebrows. However, it seems Gattis is fine, physically, as he'll step back in Friday to face right-hander Mike Pelfrey. The Astros are hoping to have Gattis ready to catch in the near future to increase lineup flexibility.

Gattis is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
It's a bit puzzling that Gattis is sitting Thursday for the second day in a row after making his season debut Tuesday, but it seems that manager A.J. Hinch is simply easing him back into action, and is avoiding using him against tough right-handers in Yordano Ventura and Ian Kennedy. Preston Tucker will serve as the Astros' designated hitter Thursday.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch would like Gattis to be ready to catch soon so the team has more lineup flexibility, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
"One of the things I've never understood is people thinking this is abnormal to have him catch," Hinch said of Gattis, who he worked with prior to Wednesday's game. "He's a catcher. We just didn't catch him last season based on the fact we wanted to keep him healthy for 500, 600 plate appearances that he hadn't had while he was catching, and we had the liberty of having the DH. He's equipped to handle the position, but he hasn't done it in a year in a single game." If Gattis logs enough appearances behind the plate to gain eligibility at the position in fantasy, his rotisserie value will increase.
