Fedde will get the start in the Nationals' first Grapefruit League game Sunday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is in the mix for the No. 5 starter job, although Joe Ross is considered the favorite to break camp in that spot. Fedde posted a career-best 4.29 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 50.1 innings last season, but his 28:22 K:BB was lackluster as he relied on weak contact and groundballs to generate outs. The 28-year-old's best fit on the staff might be in long relief.

Fedde (2-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies after giving up three runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander kept Philadelphia in check for most of the game with the exception of Bryce Harper, who hit a pair of solo homers. The bullpen then allowed nine runs in the last two innings, eliminating any chance of taking him off the hook for the loss. Fedde will finish with a 4.29 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 28:22 K:BB over 50.1 innings, assuming he doesn't appear out of the bullpen this weekend.

Fedde (2-3) tossed six scoreless frames Friday as he earned the win against in the matinee against the Marlins. He allowed one hit and two walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde failed to generate much dominance recently as he carried an 0-2 record over his past two starts, but he was dominant while pitching in the first game of Friday's doubleheader. The right-hander matched his longest appearance of the season, and the bullpen kept the shutout intact during the final inning. The right-hander now carries a 4.36 ERA and 23:21 K:BB over 43.1 innings during 10 appearances (seven starts) this season. His next start should come at home Wednesday against the Phillies.

Fedde allowed two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five in Friday's win against Atlanta. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After the Nationals scored five runs over the first three innings Friday, Fedde appeared to be in line for his first win in nearly a month. However, Atlanta mounted a comeback in the ninth inning, and Fedde had to settle for a no-decision as the game went to extra innings. The right-hander now has a 5.06 ERA, but he's struggled with command as he carries a 17:19 K:BB over 37.1 innings this season. His next start should come on the road Friday against the Marlins.

Fedde is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde had been in line to replace the injured Stephen Strasburg (hand) in the rotation Aug. 19 against Atlanta, but the game ended up being postponed due to rain. Rather than working Fedde back into the pitching schedule for this past weekend's series with the Marlins, the Nationals instead elected to summon Wil Crowe from the alternate site to make a spot start while serving as the 29th man for Saturday's doubleheader. With Washington now in need of a new starter as it plays its sixth game in five days, Fedde will finally take the hill for the first time since Aug. 14, when he tossed 5.1 shutout innings in long relief after Strasburg exited early that day.

Fedde will start one of Saturday's doubleheader games against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old was scheduled to start Wednesday before the contest was postponed, and he'll now split Saturday's twin bill with Max Scherzer, though it's unclear who will start which game. Fedde has a 2.55 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 5:9 K:BB through 17.2 innings this season.

Fedde won't start as scheduled Wednesday against the Braves since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old was set to rejoin the rotation in place of Stephen Strasburg (hand) this week, but his return to the rotation will be delayed by at least a few days. It remains to be seen if Washington adjusts the starting rotation coming out of the postponement, but Fedde should take the mound by early next week since the Nationals have a doubleheader with the Marlins this weekend.
