Manager Davey Martinez said Tuesday that Fedde (illness) will not start Wednesday against Atlanta and instead will make another rehab start for Single-A Wilmington on Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There were some rumblings of Fedde possibly being activated to take the ball Wednesday against Atlanta, but the club felt that the right-hander would not be sufficiently stretched out to do so. Instead, Fedde will continue to build up his arm strength in the minors before joining the club for the upcoming weekend series in Philadelphia.

Fedde (illness) will "probably" require a rehab start before he returns from the COVID-19 injured list, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde has rejoined the Nationals in Atlanta, and previous reports indicated that he could be in line to start Wednesday's game. The right-hander threw 65 pitches in a four-inning simulated game Saturday, but manager Dave Martinez said Monday that he'd like Fedde to be more stretched out than that when he returns to the major-league roster. If Fedde doesn't start Wednesday's matchup, it's not yet clear who will take the mound for the Nationals.

The Nationals are expected to activate Fedde (illness) from the COVID-19 injured list to start Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde likely won't have a full-time spot in the rotation available now that he's poised to return from the IL, but the Nationals will need an additional starter this week coming off a doubleheader against the Brewers on Saturday. Fedde -- who tossed a 65-pitch, four-inning simulated game Saturday -- looks like the top candidate to fill the void. Since he would be pitching on three days' rest than the standard four, Fedde's workload could be more restricted than normal if he does in fact take the hill Wednesday.

Fedde (COVID-19) is scheduled to make a rehab start with Double-A Harrisburg on Saturday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old has been on the COVID-19 injured list since May 19 after testing positive for the virus, but he's been cleared to rejoin the team and will get back up to speed in the minors. Fedde has a 4.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 36:18 K:BB over 39.1 innings (eight starts) this season, though it's unclear whether he'll rejoin the rotation or move to the bullpen once activated.

Fedde (COVID-19) has been cleared to rejoin the Nationals for team activities Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde has been sidelined since May 19 after he tested positive for COVID-19, but he appears to be trending toward a return. Manager Dave Martinez said that Fedde will need to get stretched out following his absence, and the Nationals' skipper hasn't yet determined how the right-hander will be utilized once he returns, Maria Torres of The Athletic reports.

Fedde is on the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday after testing positive for the virus, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old landed on the COVID IL earlier in the day, and teammate Max Scherzer said after the win over the Cubs that Fedde was the Nationals player who tested positive for the virus. Fedde's return could be hastened by the fact that he's received the vaccine, but he'll be unavailable for at least a brief period.

Fedde (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tanner Rainey also landed on the COVID IL, with one of the two testing positive for the virus while the other is out for contact tracing, though it's unclear which player is managing the positive result. Fedde's status in the starting rotation was already shaky with Stephen Strasburg (shoulder) nearing his return from the injured list.

Fedde (3-4) shut down Arizona 3-0 Sunday, going seven innings and permitting three hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
This was Fedde's best start of the season and his first going more than six innings and allowing zero runs, although it may be his last with Stephen Strasburg's expected May 21st return. The encouraging outing lowered his ERA nearly a full run from 5.29 to 4.35.

Fedde (2-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over five innings as the Nationals fell 6-2 to the Phillies. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander continues to struggle with his control and his command. Fedde has issued multiple walks in four straight starts and served up four homers in his last three, leaving him with a 5.29 ERA and 32:16 K:BB through 32.1 innings on the year. Barring a turnaround over the next couple weeks, Fedde remains the most likely candidate to lose their rotation spot when Stephen Strasburg (shoulder) is back.

Fedde (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs on five hits and two walks over five innings as the Nationals were downed 5-3 by Atlanta. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
All of Atlanta's runs scored on two homers, a Marcell Ozuna grand slam in the third inning and a William Contreras solo shot in the fourth. Fedde had only served up two home runs in five appearances coming into Wednesday, but the rough outing inflated his ERA to 5.27, although his 28:13 K:BB through 27.1 innings is solid. With Stephen Strasburg (shoulder) inching closer to a return, Fedde is running out of time to prove he deserves a spot in the rotation for the long haul.
