Eric Thames doubled in two runs in the bottom of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie in the Mariner's 3-1 win over the Indians on Wednesday. That's a three-game sweep for the AL's hottest team. Thames has two homers and five RBI in his last four games. Even though he's struck out 20 times, he's hitting .286 with three homers and 10 RBI in 19 games since being picked up from the Blue Jays.

Making his Mariners debut against his former team, Eric Thames hit a two-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays. Appearing in his first major-league game since May 28, Thames took Carlos Villanueva deep in the fifth. The home run was his fourth in 151 at-bats this season. Thames should get plenty of playing time for the Mariners, but shouldn't be anything to call home about in AL-only leagues in pitcher-friendly Seattle.

Eric Thames is not in Monday's lineup against the Red Sox. He's sitting against Felix Doubront, which is something that should be common practice against southpaws. Rajai Davis will start in his place in left field, but Ben Francisco is another option.

Thames drew the start over Travis Snider today and furthered his cause ever so slightly in the Blue Jays' left field competition. Either Thames or Snider will start against righties, with the other likely returning to Triple-A.

Eric Thames went 3-for-5 on Tuesday with two runs scored against the Angels. Thames' average is up to .270, thanks to six hits in his last two games. He added two strikeouts, pushing his K/BB mark to a disappointing 79/19.
