Fowler went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
There have been rumblings about a possible demotion from the leadoff spot for Fowler, but Saturday's effort provided a glimpse of what he could potentially offer at the top of the order if he can finally get on track at the plate. The veteran outfielder does have hits in three straight, although Saturday's multi-hit effort was his first since May 19. Fowler's walk rate has seen a modest drop from 14.3 percent to 11.9 percent, but his strikeout and contact rates remain right in line with his career averages. Therefore, there's plenty of hope for a resurgence, although any significant drop in the order would potentially affect his production.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny has considered moving Fowler out of the leadoff spot, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler doesn't have a hit in his last 20 at-bats, which has dropped his batting average to .206 and OBP to .305. He does have six home runs, but he hasn't been the table setter St. Louis desired when they inked him to a five-year deal in December. St. Louis doesn't boast many logical choices to bat first -- perhaps except for typical OBP monster Matt Carpenter, but he's excelled batting third. The Cardinals nevertheless may experiment with new lineups in the near future. If Fowler moves down the order, he'd lose the command over plate appearances that heavily influences his fantasy value.

Fowler went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his second in as many games and sixth of the season, and Fowler's last five hits have all gone for extra bases with a double and two triples joining the home runs. The 31-year-old's .238/.343/.484 slash line remains low, but his .271 BABIP is about 70 points lower than his career mark and should improve as the weather warms up.

Fowler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two walks in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder went deep for the first time since April 28 in the first off Rick Porcello, and was able to reach safely on two other occasions as well. It was the type of performance that typifies the skill set that Fowler brings to the leadoff spot, but that he's only flashed on too infrequent a basis thus far in St. Louis. Even with Wednesday's solid effort, he's sporting a career-low .229 average (factoring out his 13-game initial big-league cup of coffee in 2008) and has seen his BABIP fall to .268 from last season's .354.

Fowler went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder is struggling even more than he did in the season's opening month, as he's now hitting .200 over 10 May games. Fowler does have a pair of triples over that stretch, but he hasn't homered since going deep for a second consecutive game back on April 28.

Fowler is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
After missing time earlier in the week with a shoulder injury, Fowler returned to the starting lineup for the last two games, recording no hits in three at-bats but drawing walks in his other five plate appearances. All seems to be fine for Fowler on the health front, but with the Cardinals off the schedule Monday, manager Mike Matheny likely just wanted to give the outfielder two full days to rest up in advance of the team's two-game series with the Red Sox. Magneuris Sierra replaces Fowler in center field Sunday.

Fowler (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Friday's series opener with the Cubs, batting leadoff and playing center field.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler didn't start the past six games, but after pinch-hitting in three of those contests and most recently tripling home two runs Thursday evening, the Cardinals decided he was good to go back into the lineup at full capacity. He'll join Randal Grichuk and Tommy Pham in the outfield Friday as St. Louis battles Chicago starter Eddie Butler.

Fowler (shoulder) drove in two runs with a pinch-hit triple before scoring himself during Wednesday's win over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
While Fowler hasn't started any of the past six games, he has pinch-hit in three of them, and Wednesday's triple is a good indication that he should be back in the lineup sooner than later. St. Louis has Thursday off, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Fowler leading off against the Cubs on Friday. For the year, the center fielder sports an underwhelming .236/.311/.434 slash line.

Fowler (shoulder) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler entered Tuesday's outing and drove in the game-winning run. However, he's still not ready to play the field as he continues to deal with a shoulder strain. St. Louis has Thursday off, so consider Fowler day-to-day heading into Friday's game against the Cubs. Magneuris Sierra will start in center field and hit eighth in Fowler's absence.

Fowler (shoulder) singled home Magneuris Sierra in the ninth inning in his only at-bat during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder was out of the starting lineup for the fifth straight game due to his shoulder strain, but he was healthy enough to come through in the ninth with what would prove to be the game-winning run. Fowler has endured a rough first season with the Cardinals thus far, as he's slashing .229/.305/.410 over 105 at-bats.
