Fowler (knee) could require a stint on the disabled list, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While X-rays on his right knee came back negative, he was still pretty shook up after Saturday's game, which he left after getting hit on the knee by a pitch. Putting Fowler on the DL might be in everyone's best interest, as he could probably use some time to clear his head amid this brutal start (.158/.274/.289), and the Cardinals would like to get more playing time to their rookie outfielders, Tyler O'Neill and Harrison Bader.

X-rays on Fowler's right knee came back negative Saturday and he is considered day-to-day, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left the game against the Pirates after being hit by a pitch, but fortunately he dodged a serious injury. Given how bad he has been this season (.158/.274/.289), the Cardinals may opt to give him several days off in order to give more playing time to rookies Tyler O'Neill and Harrison Bader.

Fowler left Saturday's game after being hit in the leg with a pitch, FOX Sports Midwest reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler had to be helped off the field after the pitch appeared to his his knee, which is never a good sign. If Fowler is forced to the DL as a result of this injury, Tyler O'Neill would likely take on regular playing time in the Cardinals' outfield.

Fowler is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler will get another day off after taking a seat in Monday's series opener. The 32-year-old outfielder is struggling to hit for both power and average, as he's batting .139 with no home runs and just two RBI over his last 14 games. Harrison Bader will get the nod in Fowler's place and is set to bat sixth.

Fowler is out of the lineup Monday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler has reached base in five straight games, but he'll head to the bench for the second time in three games as the Cardinals give Tyler O'Neill -- one of the team's top prospects -- a third consecutive start in the outfield. The veteran is hitting just .160/.281/.292 through 40 games this season; while his job remains secure at the moment, Folwer could continue to cede some opportunities to O'Neill if he doesn't figure things out at the dish relatively soon.

Fowler is not in the lineup against Philadelphia on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler will occupy a spot on the bench after starting the past three games. Tyler O'Neill is set to man right field and bat seventh in the order. Through 38 games this season, Fowler is hitting .150/.271/.279 with five home runs, 18 RBI and two stolen bases.

Fowler went 2-for-3 with a two-run single, two walks and a run in a win over the Twins on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Like teammate Matt Carpenter, Fowler has been mired in an extended season-opening slump that has led to some of the worst numbers of his long career. However, like Carpenter, Fowler also snapped out of his doldrums in notable fashion Wednesday, posting his first multi-hit effort since April 13 in the process. The veteran outfielder does have a pair of home runs and six RBI in May, but it's been an extremely rough month otherwise -- even factoring in his breakout afternoon, he's still hitting just .128 over 12 games during the month.

Fowler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler sits for the third time in four games, with Harrison Bader getting the start in right field each time. The veteran is hitting a worrisome .146/.257/.285 through 35 games, and there are no signs of him turning things around lately, as he has just two hits in his last 30 at-bats.

Fowler, who's slashing .146/.257/.285 over his first 152 plate appearances, is putting in extra time in the batting cage as part of his attempt to improve his production at the plate, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "I am not liking playing poorly," Fowler said. "At the end of the day you get in there and you need that - at-bats. You can fix stuff in the cage but need it in the game. Which is not going to happen overnight."
EDGE Analysis
All three components of the veteran's slash line are his worst since his initial 13-game big-league cup of coffee with the Rockies in 2008, and there's too much of a sample size at this point in the season to simply dismiss the struggles as an outlier. The switch-hitting Fowler has especially been inept against left-handed pitching, despite his career .291/.382/.430 versus that handedness. The veteran is just 1-for-30 with 13 strikeouts against southpaws, which has led to Harrison Bader seeing more playing time of late. Moreover, with Tyler O'Neill now slashing .333/.342/.752 with 13 home runs and 30 RBI at Triple-A Memphis, he also could see opportunities at Fowler's expense this summer, Jeff Gordon of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Fowler is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler went 0-for-6 with two strikeouts in Saturday's contest, bringing his season average down to a brutal .147 mark. He is, however, sporting a .149 BABIP which suggests that better times are on the horizon. Harrison Bader draws the start in right field Sunday.
