Fowler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler racked up three hits over his last two games -- one fewer than he tallied in the first 17 games of the month -- but that was not enough to earn him a spot in the lineup Tuesday night. Harrison Bader will get the nod in right field instead.

Fowler went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and two runs in a win over the Brewers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The productive day was a long time coming for Fowler, who's in the midst of yet another dreadful month at the plate (.130 average in June). The outfielder has lost a fair share of playing time recently to Harrison Bader, although both players were in the lineup Sunday. Fowler has been trying a variety of techniques to break out of his season-long slump, including recently tracking pitches in bullpen sessions. It remains to be seen if the one-day surge turns leads to a badly needed hot streak for the veteran, whose season line remains an unsightly .169/.278/.280.

Fowler is out of the lineup against the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler will retreat back to the bench after going 0-for-3 with a walk during Friday's loss. Harrison Bader is set to man right field and bat eighth in the lineup as the two outfielders continue to split time for manager Mike Matheny.

Fowler is not in the lineup against Milwaukee on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler will retreat to the bench with left-hander Brent Suter on the mound for the Brewers. In his place, Harrison Bader will man right field and bat seventh in the order.

Fowler is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
With Monday's absence from the starting lineup, Fowler will have now been relegated to the bench in five of the team's past six games. While four of those absences have come against left-handed pitchers, Monday's day off against right-hander Nick Pivetta suggests he may continue to cede starts to Harrison Bader moving forward regardless of who is pitching. Bader is starting in right field and hitting seventh in this one.

Fowler is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in five games, with all of those absences coming when lefties have started for the opposition. While Fowler may still retain primary duties in right field, it's clear his standing atop the depth chart is on shaky ground in light of his career-worst .559 OPS. Fowler's season-long struggles have opened the door for Harrison Bader to pick up more work in the outfield.

Fowler went 1-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler had sat in each of the three previous games in favor of Harrison Bader, a testament to the extent of his struggles. Despite some modest success Saturday, there's seemingly no end in sight to the veteran outfielder's malaise, as he's still slashing just .173/.276/.283 in what is now the third full month of the season. Fowler has had the occasional string of productive efforts previously, but he's failed to maintain any type of consistency. Therefore, there's no way to trust him from a fantasy perspective for the time being.

Fowler is out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler has sat in favor of Harrison Bader for three straight games, but all of those have come against left-handed pitchers. Bader's .267/.333/.425 line is far better than Fowler's .171/.273/.283, so there's a chance Bader starts earning more playing time against righties as well.

Fowler is not starting Wednesday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler has now sat in favor of Harrison Bader in three of the Cardinals' last four games. Two of those have come against lefties, though the switch-hitting Fowler has hit slightly better against southpaws over the course of his career. The veteran outfielder is hitting just .172/.274/.285 on the season, though, so the Cardinals may continue to sit him more and more frequently.

Fowler is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler's .173/.276/.286 season slash line certainly hasn't given the Cardinals much reason to keep him in the lineup, though with the team paying him $14.5 million per year through the 2021 season, they would love for him to play himself out of his extended slump. Harrison Bader, a 24-year-old with a .265/.336/.434 line on the season, starts for the second time in three games in his place.
