Travis is in the midst of a career-high 17-game hitting streak, going 29-for-74 (.392) dating back to Sep. 3.
EDGE Analysis
Travis went hitless in the first game this month, but has tallied at least one base knock in every game since. The second baseman has nine multi-hit performances during the run, and has raised his average from .292 to .309 in the process. Despite missing more than a month to start the season due to a shoulder injury, Travis has put together quite a strong sophomore campaign. Through 375 at-bats in 92 games, the 25-year-old has notched 10 home runs, 25 doubles, 49 RBI and 50 runs.

Travis was the majority of the Blue Jays offense in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Red Sox, going 3-for-5 with a two-RBI single.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old leadoff man sliced an early 4-0 deficit in half with a two-RBI single that plated Michael Saunders and Melvin Upton, Jr., one of the few bright spots on the night for Toronto. Travis has been a revelation this season and is wielding a red-hot bat in September, with a six-game hitting streak that includes four multi-hit efforts. He's slashing .300/.329/.462 for the season and has new career highs in virtually every other major offensive category in 2016.

Travis will hit leadoff Monday against the Yankees, while Jose Bautista slides down to the two hole, Brendan Kennedy reports.
EDGE Analysis
Just days after manager John Gibbons said the top spot in the batting order belongs to Bautista, he pencils a lineup that doesn't follow suit. The manager said Monday that the move is not permanent, and it was mostly a ripple effect from Troy Tulowitzki getting the day off. Expect Travis to slide back to the bottom of the order Tuesday.

Travis was optioned to the Blue Jays' Rookie-level team Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The move appears to be only procedural, as the Jays needed to temporarily clear a roster spot to accommodate Josh Thole, who signed a major league deal with the club Wednesday night. The Rookie ball season ends Thursday night, so Travis is expected to return to the Jays on Friday after rosters expand.

Jose Bautista, not Travis, will be the team's leadoff hitter for the foreseeable future, the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis, who was expected to assume the leadoff duties for most of the season, has done a respectable job when penciled in atop the lineup. He's batting .311 in 23 games from the top spot and the Jays are 14-9 in those contests. However, over the weekend, manager John Gibbons made clear his plans to use Bautista as the first hitter and push Travis toward the bottom. Gibbons thinks having the Jays' big bats -- Bautista, Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion -- staring down the opposing pitcher right away might make things a little uncomfortable out on the mound. Although Travis will lose at-bats and possibly see a dip in runs scored, he's also likely to benefit by having more chances to rack up RBI from down in the order.

Travis (hand) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Twins, Barry Davis of SportsNet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis had missed the last four games with soreness in his hand, but he's back at his usual second base spot Saturday. The righty will bat eighth in the order against Minnesota's Ervin Santana.
