Travis has come on strong of late, batting .286 on the season and .347 in the last 30 days. Average is his primary contribution though, as he has just three steals and six home runs in 2016.

After hitting leadoff in his previous two starts, Travis continued to bounce around the lineup on Wednesday. Hitting eighth, Travis notched a pair of doubles and bumped his average up to .277, its highest mark of the month. In the final two games of the interleague series, the second baseman went 5-for-10 while scoring five runs.

Manager John Gibbons has stated that he wants Travis atop the lineup, but would wait until Travis seemed comfortable at the plate after missing most of the first half rehabbing from off-season surgery.
