Derek Jeter (ankle) has resumed facing live pitching.
Jeter took six simulated at-bats on Thursday and Friday, his first hitting activities against live pitching since his setback in March. His rehab is moving along nicely and he could be ready for rehab games in the early part of July if all goes well. The Yankees are hopeful he'll be ready to make an impact during the second half.

Derek Jeter ran outdoors Thursday for the first time since the second fracture was discovered in his left ankle.
Jeter has been taking rounds of batting practice and fielding groundballs for over a week and should be ready to begin playing in minor league rehab games at some point in early July. He is on track to return to the Yankees' active roster shortly after the All-Star break.

Derek Jeter (ankle) took batting practice Wednesday for the first time since his second ankle fracture.
It's another big step for the rehabbing shortstop, who is working out at the Yankees' spring training complex in Tampa, Florida. Jeter has been hitting off a tee and doing light fielding drills for about a week and is currently on track to return to the Yankees' active roster shortly after the All-Star break.

Derek Jeter (ankle) participated in hitting and fielding drills Friday at the Yankees' spring training complex.
Jeter hit off a tee and took swings in an indoor cage before resuming light infield work. It was the first time he has done any baseball activities since mid-April. Assuming he avoids setbacks, Jeter could be ready to rejoin the Yankees' lineup in about six weeks.

Derek Jeter (ankle) was cleared to resume running and other baseball activities after a visit with Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, North Carolina Thursday.
It's great news, though Jeter obviously still has a long ways to go. The Yankees are hoping he could be ready to rejoin the lineup in about six weeks, though that's a rough timetable. Jeter, of course, tried to make it back by Opening Day but pushed things too quickly and suffered a small crack in his surgically-repaired ankle. He'll be more cautious this time around.

Derek Jeter (ankle) is hoping to be cleared for full activity after visiting with a doctor on Thursday.
He could be ready to return six weeks after that, though that's a rough timetable. "Hard to say because you don't know where he is compared to a normal spring," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "We'll just have to see how he moves." That puts Jeter on track to be activated in late July if all goes well.

Derek Jeter (ankle) took 25 dry swings and fielded 20 grounders on Monday morning in Tampa, Florida.
Jeter had a follow-up exam this weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina with the surgeon who performed his ankle surgery last October and everything apparently checked out fine. The veteran shortstop is aiming to return to the Yankees' active roster around mid-July.

Derek Jeter (ankle) will fly to Charlotte, North Carolina next week to meet with his surgeon and undergo a CT scan as part of a follow-up examination.
As of now, Jeter is restricted to playing catch and going through cardio exercises and physical therapy. However, he could be cleared to increase his workload if he gets good news on his ankle next week. There's no formal timetable for his return, but the Yankees hope to get their captain back at some point during the second half.

Derek Jeter (ankle) is close to getting the walking boot on his left foot removed again.
Jeter had a routine checkup recently and was told his left ankle is healing. Once the boot is removed, he'll be eased into baseball activities again. The future Hall of Famer won't be an option at shortstop for the Yankees until after the All-Star break.
