Santana is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox, LaVelle E. Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Santana is just 2-for-11 for his career against the White Sox hurler Jose Quintana, so he'll take a seat and pick up some rest. Eduardo Escobar checks in at Santana's usual shortstop spot.

Santana went 1-for-5 in Sunday's win over the White Sox. He's hitting .392 (11-for-28) over his last seven games.
Santana has moved back to ninth in the order the past four games after being used mostly at leadoff early in the season. It looks like the move has helped him end an early slump at the plate and it's not clear if he'll move back to the leadoff role.

Santana returned to the leadoff spot and went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's win over Detroit.
He had hit ninth in the order the past two games. After starting the season by hitting .203 (12-for-59), it looks like he's broken out of his slump by going 6-for-13 in his last three games. He still doesn't have a walk this season, however, so his plate discipline remains a concern.

Santana was moved to 9th in the batting order and went 1-for-3 in Sunday's win over Seattle.
Santana was moved from leadoff to last in the order amid a 13-for-62 start to the season with no walks and 20 strikeouts. The move to the bottom of the batting order will likely stick until he breaks out of his slump.

Santana is out of the lineup Saturday, the Star Tribune's LaVelle E. Neal reports.
Santana is currently striking out at a 31.7 percent clip, and considering his offensive superiority was supposed to be the separator between he and Eduardo Escobar, it's no surprise he is starting to sit a couple times per week. Escobar is easily the better defender at shortstop, so if the Twins want to put a poor hitter in the lineup at that position, it makes more sense for it to be Escobar than Santana.

Santana is not in Sunday's lineup against Cleveland, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
This is just a day off, but Santana is off to a slow start to the season by hitting just .195 with 13 strikeouts and no walks in 42 plate appearances. Manager Paul Molitor has said he'll stick with him as his leadoff hitter, but Santana needs to breakout of his slump eventually.

Santana went 0-for-4 Saturday with three strikeouts.
He wasn't the only Twin having trouble catching up to Danny Salazar's heat on Saturday, but Santana is now hitting just .195 (8-for-41) on the season with no walks and 13 K's in 10 games. If he can't start making better contact soon, Santana might find himself bumped down to the bottom of the order, or even losing playing time to Eduardo Escobar.

Santana is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Santana started at shortstop in each of Minnesota's first three games, going 0-for-12 with five strikeouts. Eduardo Escobar will get the nod Friday afternoon, but Santana should return to the lineup for Saturday's game.

Santana has been named Minnesota's starting shortstop, MLB.com reports.
It's not a surprise as Santana had been used exclusively as a shortstop this spring. However, with Aaron Hicks sent to Triple-A this clears up any chance he'd move back to center field. With Santana at shortstop Eduardo Escobar will move to a utility role.
