Santana has been named Minnesota's starting shortstop, MLB.com reports. It's not a surprise as Santana had been used exclusively as a shortstop this spring. However, with Aaron Hicks sent to Triple-A this clears up any chance he'd move back to center field. With Santana at shortstop Eduardo Escobar will move to a utility role.
