Duffy (oblique) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and is scheduled to throw again Friday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first report of Duffy being able to throw again since being placed on the disabled list with an oblique strain on May 29. The veteran hurler still has a ways to go in his rehab, but it appears that he's progressing well in the early-going.

Duffy was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday with a Grade 1 oblique strain, Jeff Flanagan of MLB.com reports. He's expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was roughed up in his start Sunday against the Indians, allowing six runs on nine hits and three walks over four innings, but there was no indication that he was dealing with any sort of physical issue during the outing. According to Flanagan, Duffy hurt himself when he stumbled toward first base while attempting to record an out, and though the left-hander was able to remain in the contest, exams afterward showed that he was dealing with a significant injury. With Duffy now likely out until after the All-Star break, the Royals will have two spots to fill in the rotation this week and potentially beyond, as Nate Karns (elbow) remains on the disabled list and is scheduled to miss his next turn Tuesday against the Tigers.

Duffy (4-4) allowed six runs on nine hits and three walks with just two strikeouts through four innings during Sunday's loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
This was the third time this season that Duffy allowed six runs in a start, but he's surrendered two or fewer in each of the other eight outings. The lefty owns a 3.54 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 7.1 K/9, and his 3.61 FIP highlights everything he's doing is probably sustainable. This won't be the last time Cleveland does damage against a solid pitcher, either. Duffy projects to make another start against the Indians next weekend.

Duffy (4-3) allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Yankees. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
For the second week in a row, Duffy shined in a winning effort over the Yankees. Over his last four starts, Duffy has a 1.63 ERA to go along with a 1.12 WHIP and 8.1 K/9. He seems to be hitting his stride as the anchor of the Royals' rotation, and should continue to provide reliability as the season wears on. His next start will come Sunday at Cleveland.

Duffy (3-3) tossed seven scoreless innings in Thursday's win over the Yankees, allowing three hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy had it all working in this one and retired the first nine batters he faced before Jacoby Ellsbury reached on a bunt single that was initially ruled an out. Just three men reached second base during his time on the mound and he racked up 10 punchouts for the first time in 2017 after doing so on three occasions last year. Duffy allowed six runs in back-to-back starts against the White Sox a couple of weeks ago, but he has since bounced back with three consecutive quality starts to lower his ERA back down to 2.97. He has an 18:5 K:BB over 20.2 innings in that stretch and will look to keep it rolling Tuesday against this same Yankees lineup.

Duffy (2-3) allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings but came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
It was Duffy's sixth quality start in eight trips to the mound but despite a solid 3.38 ERA, his 1.34 WHIP and 6.2 K/9 are well off the pace expected of the left-hander in the preseason. A further warning sign that his ERA might not be sustainable is his career-best 0.4 HR/9, a rate that seems almost certain to rise given the league-wide homer binge happening around him. Duffy's next start will come Thursday at home against the Yankees.

Duffy (2-3) allowed just one run on six hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 6.2 innings during Sunday's 1-0 loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing 12 runs over just 9.2 innings through his previous two starts, this was a solid bounce-back showing from the lefty. Duffy currently sports a 3.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 6.0 K/9, so with just two wins on the season, it's been an underwhelming start. In particular, he posted a 9.3 K/9 through his 26 starts last year, so the drop in strikeouts is a significant blow to his fantasy stock. Duffy projects to make a home start against the Orioles next, and Baltimore owns a 26.3 strikeout percentage and .293 wOBA against southpaws.

Duffy (2-2) coughed up six runs on 10 hits and two walks over five innings in Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the White Sox. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
It's his second straight rough start, sending his ERA tumbling to 3.89. Duffy continues to have difficulty sustaining his velocity deep into games -- by the fourth inning Tuesday, his two-seamer was barely registering above 90 mph -- and without that consistent heat the left-hander could have trouble finding the form he flashed in 2016. His next start comes Sunday at home against a Cleveland squad that has struggled this season against southpaws (.289 wOBA).

Duffy (2-1) gave up six runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
While he did manage to keep the ball in the park, that's about the only positive takeaway from this outing for the left-hander. Four of the nine hits Duffy served up went for extra bases, and after a scoreless first he got tagged for runs in four straight innings before being chased from the game. His 2.81 ERA and 1.22 WHIP are solid, but Duffy's 6.8 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 have fallen back to their pre-2016 levels and he's given back last season's velocity gains on his fastball, worrying signs for those who invested in him expecting him to blossom into an ace. He'll get a rematch with the White Sox back in Kansas City on Monday.

Duffy (2-0) tossed 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out five, but did not factor in the decision Thursday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Duffy and his owners, the left-hander was matched pitch-for-pitch in the 13-inning marathon that went scoreless until the Rangers walked off with a 1-0 victory. The ace has racked up 11 strikeouts while holding opponents scoreless over his last 14 frames. Duffy has started the 2017 campaign with four straight quality starts, and owns a sparkling 1.32 ERA and 1.02 WHIP through 27.1 innings. He'll make his next start Tuesday night at home against the White Sox.
