Corey Kluber allowed two runs over five innings to earn the win in his first start since being activated from the disabled list.
Kluber picked up right where he left off, needing just 64 pitches to get through his five innings. He allowed five hits and a walk on the night, striking out five. He'll be able to last deeper into games as he continues to regain his stamina. Kluber's next outing will come Thursday against the White Sox in Chicago.

Indians activated RHP Corey Kluber from the 15-day disabled list.
Kluber will jump immediately back into the rotation to take on the Mets on Saturday. He's been on the shelf since August 5 due to a sprained finger, and will likely be on a limited pitch count in his first start. Before hitting the DL, Kluber had pitched very well, posting a 3.54 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 116/26 K/BB ratio in his first 122 innings.

Corey Kluber (finger) will start Saturday against the Mets.
Manager Terry Francona originally intended to have Kluber piggyback Scott Kazmir's start on Friday before settling back into his old rotation spot. "He'll probably be limited to 75-80 pitches," Francona said. Kluber has been out since August 5 with a sprained right middle finger. The right-hander returns to a 3.54 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 116/26 K/BB ratio over 122 innings.

Corey Kluber (finger) could be activated and make a start Friday against the Mets.
The potential start is conditional on Kluber getting through a simulated game on Monday. Kluber hasn't pitched since August 5, and he'll likely throw around 60 pitches if he does get call.

Corey Kluber (finger) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday.
Indians' skipper Terry Francona said he's progressing nicely in his recovery. If all goes well with Monday's session, he'll presumably head out on a minor league rehab assignment at the end of next week, and could return to the Tribe's rotation in early September.

Corey Kluber (finger) extended his long-toss to 150 feet Monday.
He wore tape on his sprained right middle finger during long-toss but then removed it to play catch from 60 feet. It's not clear when Kluber will be allowed to throw from a mound, but he's progressing nicely. He's expected back in early September.

Corey Kluber (finger) played catch from a distance of 90 feet on Friday without any issue.
Kluber will increase that distance to 120 feet on Saturday. He'll likely need at least one rehab appearance before rejoining the Indians' rotation, so he shouldn't be expected back until early September.
