Astros placed RHP Collin McHugh on the 15-day disabled list with a right fingernail avulsion.
McHugh sustained the injury during his last start. He had originally hoped to be ready in time to pitch on Saturday, but the Astros will play things safely and hold him out until after the All-Star break. Brett Oberholtzer will get the start in his place against the Red Sox.

Collin McHugh (finger) will not start on Saturday against the Red Sox as originally hoped.
McHugh, who is dealing with a right fingernail avulsion, had his bullpen session pushed back from Thursday to Friday. It's possible he'll be able to start Sunday, though the Astros could just decide to hold him out until after the All-Star break. Brett Oberholtzer was scratched from Tuesday's scheduled outing at Triple-A Oklahoma City and seems likely to take the ball Saturday.

Collin McHugh (finger) will be re-evaluated after he throws a bullpen session on Thursday.
McHugh was expected to throw on Wednesday, but he played catch in the outfield instead. The catch session went off without a hitch, but the real test will be Thursday. "It's kind of unpredictable," McHugh said. "I could see them going either way with it for the next start." If McHugh can't go Saturday, the Astros will likely rearrange their rotation to have Jarred Cosart make the start instead.

Jose Altuve had a single and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Angels.
Altuve stole his 38th base of the year, most in the American League, and he hasn't been caught in his last 25 attempts. The diminutive second baseman is hitting .337 with an .813 OPS -- he also leads the AL in batting average. He's certainly deserving of his second All-Star selection, which was announced Sunday.

Collin McHugh was forced to leave Sunday's start against the Angels after just due to a right middle fingernail avulsion.
The fingernail was apparently pulled away from the skin on his finger. He had surrendered a pair of runs on four hits over his four innings of work before being removed.

Collin McHugh was tagged for five runs and three homers in six innings by the Mariners on Monday.
McHugh hadn't allowed multiple homers in any of his previous 12 starts, though that was probably something of a fluke. He's been a big asset for the Astros with his 3.22 ERA and 89/31 K/BB ratio in 78 1/3 innings, but more homers and hits are on the way.

Collin McHugh allowed three runs over seven innings of work, striking out nine, in Wednesday's loss to the Braves.
McHugh wasn't far from a markedly better result, as he allowed only three hits and two walks on the evening. One of those hits was a two-run home run, though, and another was an Evan Gattis double that turned into a run on a sacrifice fly. He did strike out nine over his seven innings, giving him 81 strikeouts and 27 walks in 72 1/3 innings this year. McHugh will look to get back in the win column for the first time since June 3 when he takes on the Mariners on Monday.
