McHugh (9-9) shut down the Mariners on Tuesday, permitting only one run on two hits with no walks and four strikeouts over eight innings to earn his ninth win of the season. An infield single and a solo home run were McHugh's lone blemishes on the night in an otherwise dominant performance against the Astros' AL West division rivals. The 27-year-old has won five of his last six starts.

McHugh (4-9) was excellent Thursday, limiting the Phillies to one run on five hits with no walks and eight strikeouts over seven innings. He did not factor into the decision, however, as Philadelphia came from behind to win the game after he departed. Don't let the 4-9 record fool you. McHugh has been one of Houston's best starting pitchers this season, posting excellent ratios across the board. With a 3.18 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 10.15 K/9 through 17 starts, he's definitely earned his keep after failing to break camp with the club out of spring training. McHugh lines up for two starts next week, drawing Minnesota at home on Tuesday and the Red Sox in Boston on Sunday.
