McHugh gave up five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings Tuesday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh has now given up 10 runs on 14 hits and five walks over his last two starts (nine innings), so it is hard to start the righty with confidence going forward. His ERA now sits at 4.05 through 182 innings -- a far cry from the 2.73 mark he posted in 154.2 innings last season. McHugh's next start will come Sunday at home against the A's.

McHugh (16-7) went 5.1 innings Wednesday, allowing five earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five in an 11-5 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday's outing was an unwelcome change of pace for McHugh, who had allowed just seven earned runs in his last six outings combined. Nevertheless, McHugh received enough run support to win despite a four-run fifth inning. McHugh will look to rebound from his shaky outing against the Rangers on Tuesday.

McHugh (15-7) pitched 7.2 scoreless innings in Friday's win over the Twins, allowing seven hits and walk while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
It's hard to imagine that McHugh's ERA stood at 5.08 in mid-June. After stringing together solid start after solid start since, McHugh has become a dependable arm for Houston and has been downright nasty since over the past month. Since Aug. 1, McHugh is boasting a 1.54 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and is averaging 8.78 K/9. You can count on him start in and start out down the stretch.

McHugh earned his 14th win of the season Wednesday with 6.1 innings of two-run ball against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
He fanned eight in the start, while pushing his ERA to 3.92 for the season. McHugh's strikeout rate has fallen from the 25.4% (9.1 K/9) mark that he posted a year ago, to 19.5% (7.4 K/9) in 2015. He has shown a slightly improved groundball rate (45.5%), and his swinging strike rate (11.0%) isn't far off of his 2014 mark (10.4%), so a slight bump in strikeouts the rest of the way seems to be within reach.

McHugh allowed three runs on four hits, walking one and striking out six over seven innings of a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Friday night.
McHugh (9-5, 4.50 ERA) has been up and down all season, and has yet to consistently perform up to his 2014 standards. This was somewhat encouraging as he tossed five scoreless innings before the Rays got to him in the sixth and seventh innings. Still, he tossed just 96 pitches (64 for strikes) which would suggest fatigue should not have been a factor.

McHugh took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out only one.
After three straight quality starts, McHugh fell right back into the doldrums as he can't seem to find his 2014 form. The Astros' offense has still carried him to nine wins on the season, but his 4.54 ERA and 85:27 K:BB ratio in 107 innings so far mark him as a player who only has real value in deeper AL-only formats going forward. He'll try to bounce back on Thursday in Cleveland.

McHugh had lasted into the eighth just once in 14 previous starts, and Tuesday was the first time he's completed eight innings in 2015. He now has three quality starts in his last four appearances, but just a 4.80 ERA. He has allowed 13 home runs in 15 starts.

McHugh (7-3) allowed three runs on four hits and five walks with eight strikeouts over six innings during Thursday's 8-4 win at Colorado.
McHugh looked like he was in for a rough afternoon after allowing a three-run homer in the first inning to Carlos Gonzalez, but he shook off his early troubles and held the Rockies hitless after the third inning. The 28-year-old right-hander will carry a 5.04 ERA into a two-start week against the Angels on Tuesday and Yankees on Sunday.

McHugh lasted just three innings on Saturday, coughing up eight runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out only one.
Logan Morrison did most of the damage against him with two home runs and five RBI, but McHugh wasn't much more successful against the rest of the Mariners' lineup. His ERA is now a woeful 5.08, and his 7.00 K/9 and 1.36 HR/9 rates are well off last year's pace. If those numbers weren't enough to convince you to remove him from your active roster, however, this might -- McHugh's next start comes on Thursday in Colorado.

McHugh (6-2) allowed three runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts over six innings Sunday, but received no decision in a 7-6 loss to Toronto.
Despite allowing two home runs in the game, McHugh was actually in line for the victory before the Blue Jays rallied late to steal a win from the Astros. The 27-year-old right-hander will carry a 4.34 ERA into his next start Saturday against Seattle.
