While Tillman fell off a bit over the season's second half, he still turned in a strong overall campaign, finishing 16-6 with a 3.77 ERA and 1.28 WHIP across 172 innings. The right-hander last pitched Wednesday in Toronto against these same Blue Jays, allowing six hits and one earned run over 5.2 innings. He's been shaky at Rogers Centre throughout his eight years in the major leagues, however, holding a career 2-6 record to go with a 7.01 ERA.

Tillman pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out two Blue Jays in Wednesday's no-decision.

In his final start of the regular season, the 28-year-old rebounded nicely from his previous outing, a 1.2-inning disaster against Boston. Overall, 2016 was a successful campaign for Tillman, who failed miserably to fulfill high expectations a year ago. This season, the righty tied his career high with 16 wins and enjoyed a career-best nine game winning streak that stretched across the first three months of the season. Tillman went 13-1 over 17 starts from April 27 to July 21. He stumbled a bit down the stretch, but that didn't subtract from his outstanding campaign and the critical role he played in Baltimore's success this year.

The Orioles announced Kevin Gausman (ribs) will take the hill Tuesday, while Tillman gets the nod Wednesday evening. Tillman last started Thursday against the Red Sox, lasting only 1.2 innings and conceding three earned runs on five hits.

Tillman didn't last long Thursday against Boston, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks in just 1.2 innings.

Considering Tillman registered well more baserunners (eight) than outs (five), he's fortunate to have escaped with only three runs and no loss on his line. His final start of the regular season will come next week against Toronto, wrapping up an inconsistent and injury-shortened campaign in which he's nonetheless tied his career high in wins with 16.
