Owings isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the Rockies. Owings will get the day off Monday following two straight hitless games Friday and Sunday. He remains the club's top option at second base, but with an underwhelming .205/.233/.289 batting line through the first month-plus of the campaign, it's possible he'll see more days off moving forward.

Owings is out of the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers. Owings has been off to a poor start over the first month of the season, so perhaps a day off Saturday will help him turn things around. Aaron hill will start at second base in his place Saturday, batting sixth.

Owings went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and the Diamondbacks only run Saturday in a 2-1 loss to the Pirates. Owings took advantage of A.J. Burnett's slow move to the plate and in the process got himself up to four steals on the year. He has nine hits in his last 21 at-bats to boost his average up to .241 on the season following a slow start. He has played second base almost exclusively, but with shortstop Nick Ahmed's struggles he could start to see some time there.

Owings stayed hot at the dish Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with his first home run, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI, in an 8-5 win over the Rangers. This is his third multi-hit in his past five as he digs himself out of a slow start. Owings has raised his batting line to .220/.250/.360 on the season, although he has still struck out in obscene 34% of his plate appearances. He has the upside to post double digits in home runs and steals, which will bring value in many fantasy formats.

Owings went 3-for-4 with two RBI and his second stolen base of the season Sunday in a 5-1 win over San Francisco. Owings is still trying to find a groove at the plate, but with multi-hit efforts and stolen bases in two of his last three games, he could be just about to break out. While the stolen bases are an important part of his game, he has just two extra-base hits so far and could still be working through the effects of off-season shoulder surgery, so keep expectations for his power stoke in check for a while longer.

Owings had a productive game Friday in a win over the Giants, going 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs, and a stole base. The young infielder has had a slow start, posting just a .152/.200/.182 batting line through 36 plate appearances. He has struck out in 42% of his plate appearances in the early going and was reported to have made some mechanical adjustments to try to relieve some stress on his surgically repaired shoulder. His early struggles may be a result of trying to get used to the changes, so be patient as he still has the ability to reach double-digit home runs and steals.

Owings is out of the lineup Wednesday, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports. It's been a really rough start to the season for Owings at the plate, as he is hitting .087/.125/.130 in 23 at-bats. Nick Ahmed has been pretty bad too, but with both struggling it appears to be a bit of a time share. Fortunately, Owings gets some starts at second base as well when Aaron Hill starts at third, but production is more of an issue than playing time for Owings through 10 days of the season.

Owings is out of the lineup Sunday. Cliff Pennington is taking over second base duties for the game. It appears this is a normal day of rest for Owings.

Owings reached base the for first time in 2015, drawing a walk in four plate appearances Saturday in a 6-0 win over the Dodgers. He was 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his other plate appearances. Owings has started slowly with just the one walk and six strikeouts in his 15 plate appearances. His main competition for playing time - Nick Ahmed and Aaron Hill - aren't lighting up the scoreboard either, so while he needs to get going soon, he shouldn't be in jeopardy of losing playing time just yet. Deploy him as you normally would for the D-Backs upcoming games.

Owings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Owings has struggle to start the season, with only one hit in his first 15 plate appearances. This is most likely rest and Cliff Pennington will take over the starting spot at second in the meantime.
