Owings went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run double Sunday against the Giants. The 23-year-old narrowly missed a grand slam, but settled for the bases-loaded double off the wall in what was ultimately a 4-0 win. Owings has lost playing time to Cliff Pennington and Nick Ahmed recently, but is outperforming both at the plate and should continue to see the majority of the at-bats at shortstop, although he carries limited fantasy value due to his meager outputs in most statistical categories.

Owings is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants. Aaron Hill will get the nod at second base as Owings sits for the second time in four games. Owings has followed up an 11-game hit streak by going 0-for-11 with five strikeouts in his last three starts.

Owings is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers. It looks like nothing more than a scheduled day off for Owings, who is 8-for-29 with 10 strikeouts in eight games this month. Cliff Pennington will get the call at second base and bat ninth against Dodgers' starter Carlos Frias.

Owings went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Mets to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. Owings is hitting .302 during the streak to raise his season average to .250. The bad news is that he has just one extra-base hit (a double) and one walk, compared to 14 strikeouts, over that stretch. As his .607 OPS suggests, he is still struggling to get all facets of his game going. He seems to be healthy, so it should be just a matter of time for him to put it together and make a bigger fantasy impact.

Owings went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run, and his seventh stolen base of the year Wednesday against Atlanta. Owings has a six-game hitting streak and two steals in that span. He is striking out in 24 percent of his plate appearances, which is a big reason he has posted a disappointing .247/.268/.343 line this year, despite a .321 BABIP. He is also suffering a power outage with just two home runs and a .096 isolated power. He doesn't seem to be quite the same hitter after a shoulder injury ended his season last year.

Wings went 2-for-5 with his sixth stolen base of the year Friday against the Brewers. After a couple of days off, Owings took advantage of getting back in the lineup to get a couple of hits. His .241/.259/.342 line thus far is poor and below expectations. He is being held back by his low 2.4 percent walk rate against a 23.5 percent strike out rate and his .101 isolated power, down from .145 in 2014. While he has said he is no longer bothered by the shoulder injury that ended his season last year, he is not producing like he did before it occurred.

Owings is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Owings will sit for a second straight game, this time in favor of Cliff Pennington at second base. After a brief hot stretch in the middle of May, Owings has gone ice cold, recording one hit in his last 22 at-bats to lower his batting line on the season to .235/.255/.340.

Owings is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in St. Louis. Owings started four of the last five games, but Aaron Hill will man the keystone Tuesday night. Both have been unimpressive at the plate this season, and they may continue to split at-bats, albeit with Owings likely getting the larger share. Of course, if Hill were to heat up while Owings continued to struggle, it might be Hill suddenly getting most of the playing time.

Owings is not in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs. Owings seemed to be hitting his stride there in the middle of May, rattling off five consecutive multi-hit games, but he's gone 0-for-14 with no walks in his last three starts. Aaron Hill will man second base for the second time in four days.

Owings is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. Owings will get a day off after starting the last eight games for the Diamondbacks, a span over which he raised his batting average 49 points to .259. Aaron Hill will cover second base and Nick Ahmed will play shortstop for Arizona on Wednesday.
