Owings is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Cardinals.

Owings will receive the day off Wednesday following a 0-for-12 stretch at the plate over the past three games. Instead, the Diamondbacks will roll with Aaron Hill at second base, Jake Lamb at third base and Nick Ahmed at shortstop.

Owings is out of the lineup Wednesday. Owings has been pretty mediocre this season, slashing .234/.261/.323, so it should come as no surprise when he is left out of the lineup, even in an American League park. Aaron Hill will start at DH with Cliff Pennington starting at second base Wednesday.

Owings went 3-for-5 Friday in a win over Colorado. Owings has been swinging the bat a bit better lately, posting a .270 average with three extra-base hits and three walks across 37 at-bats over the last two weeks. He is still striking out a ton though - 13 of those 37 at-bats ended in a punch out - and he is sitting on a disappointing .239/.262/.332 line for the season.

Owings went 2-for-4 with two runs Monday in a win over the Dodgers. Owings managed just his second multi-hit game in June while having a disappointing season thus far, posting just a .234/.256/.327 line. Owings has nine stolen bases on the season, but just two home runs and the anticipation that he could post double digits in both categories has worn off for now.

Owings is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres. The slumping Owings will give way to Aaron Hill after going 0-for-5 with a walk and two stolen bases in the first two games of the series. Since Owings is still only in his age-23 season, the Diamondbacks will likely continue to give him the bulk of the starts at second base moving forward, as Hill has generally failed to get much going offensively during the recent opportunities he's received.

Owings went 0-for-2 with a walk, two steals, and a run scored in a 4-2 loss to the Padres on Friday. This performance gives him nine swipes on the season, and if he can find a consistent role with Arizona, he could be looking at 20-plus. While Owings is hard to trust in mixed leagues because of his limited hitting prowess, he's a sneaky source of steals in NL-only formats.

Owings isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports. Owings has been getting most of the playing time at second base, with Aaron Hill occasionally filling in. This marks Owings' second absence form the lineup in the last four games, but he previously started five consecutive contests.

Wings went 1-for-3 with a triple and run scored Saturday against San Diego. It has been a rough month for Owings, who has just a .198/.211/.264 line (18-for-91) over the past 30 days. He is not the same hitter this year after his promising rookie season ended with a shoulder injury that require offseason surgery. While he has never been a patient hitter, his strikeout rate has spiked (26%) this year, while his walk rate (2.5%) and ISO (.097) are dismal. Add to that the fact that he is playing mostly second base, not shortstop, and he has lost most of his value, even in keeper leagues where his youth should make him more interesting.

Owings isn't in Friday's lineup against the Padres. Owings continues to serve as the everyday second baseman for the Diamondbacks, but that leaves Aaron Hill as more of a utility player. After filling in for Jake Lamb at third base Thursday, he'll take Owings spot in the lineup Friday, batting sixth.

Owings went 1-for-4 and scored the Diamondbacks only run Monday in a loss to the Angels. Owings has hits in three straight games, but has really struggled this season, resulting in a .238/.257/.327 line with just two home runs. While is 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts, he is not adding much to the cause of his fantasy owners thus far.
