Headley was removed from Thursday's game in the ninth inning after being struck by a pitch in the mouth area, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Headley was able to walk off the field with an assist from Yankees trainers. His status will be updated when more details are released following the game.

Headley went 1-for-3 with a two-run double Thursday against the Astros. Headley also struck out for the fourth consecutive game in this one. He has an odd line over that stretch, having gone 5-for-15 (.333) and making eight of his 10 outs via the whiff. All in all, the transition to the Yankees has failed to truly elevate Headley's offensive game.

Headley went 2-for-4 in a losing effort against the Astros on Wednesday. The multi-hit effort was the second in three games for Headley, whose season numbers still lag behind even the more conservative projections for his 2014 this spring. Thus far, he's been a fixture in the lineup for the Yankees, and his back injury hasn't led to more than the occasional day off since he was acquired from San Diego.

Headley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's victory over the Tigers. Headley launched his third home run in a Yankee uniform, but it was only his second extra-base hit so far in August. The 30-year-old is slashing .235/.301/.366 through 369 plate appearances so far in 2014. He started his Yankee career with an eight-game hit streak, but has since gone 5-for-27 at the dish.

Chase Headley slugged his first home run since joining the Yankees in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays. It was a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth inning. Headley is now 8-for-23 (.348) in six games since the trade that sent him from San Diego to New York and is capable of providing significant fantasy value down the stretch now that he's playing his home games in a much more offense-friendly park.

Chase Headley went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Friday against the Blue Jays. Brian Cashman is a genius. OK, maybe it's a little early for that, but Headley is 6-for-18 (.333) with two doubles and two RBI over his first four games with the Yankees. His arrow is definitely on the rise in fantasy leagues with his new surroundings.

Yankees acquired 3B Chase Headley and cash considerations from the Padres for INF Yangervis Solarte and RHP Rafael De Paula. The deal is now official. Headley's stock has plummeted since his breakout season in 2012, but he's a worthwhile gamble for the Yankees given their current options at third base. The 30-year-old has swung the bat better of late and has good road numbers for his career, so it would be no surprise if he finishes his walk year on a high note.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees have acquired third baseman Chase Headley from the Padres. Neither team has confirmed the deal, but the Yankees will send infielder Yangervis Solarte and prospect right-hander right-hander Rafael De Paula to the Padres. New York will also receive $1 million from San Diego to help cover part of the nearly $4 million remaining on Headley's contract for this season.

Chase Headley hit a solo homer off Clayton Kershaw in a 2-1 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday. He finished 1-for-4. This was Headley's first homer since June 14. He's taken plenty of heat for a subpar season, but the veteran third baseman has shown signs recently of breaking out of his funk. He entered this game batting .371 with an .829 OPS this month.
