Kuhl (8-11) picked up the win over the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over five-plus innings while strikingt out five.
EDGE Analysis
He hung in after a three-run second inning, but Kuhl got the hook after throwing 80 pitches (48 strikes) and putting the first two Baltimore batters in the sixth on base. He finishes 2017 with a 4.35 ERA, and he'll head into next spring looking to solidify his spot in the Bucs rotation.

Kuhl will start Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Clint Hurdle dropped Kuhl from the rotation last week in order to clear spots for Jameson Taillon and Trevor Williams, but the right-hander will get one final opportunity to start before the season draws to a close. Kuhl's 4.31 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 152.1 innings this season aren't anything special, but he's trimmed his ERA to 3.49 since the All-Star break while using his mid-90s fastball to generate more than a strikeout per inning. Walking batters remains an issue for Kuhl, but if he's able to make some slight mechanical adjustments over the winter and spring, he could be an intriguing sleeper in deep-league drafts based on his strikeout potential alone.

Kuhl is not scheduled to start a game this weekend against the Cardinals, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Clint Hurdle named Ivan Nova, Gerrit Cole and Jameson Taillon as his starters against St. Louis, leaving Kuhl as the odd man out. Kuhl allowed four home runs in 4.2 innings in Cincinnati his last time out, lifting his season ERA and WHIP to 4.31 and 1.46, respectively. It's uncertain if he will get another chance to start before the end of the season.

Kuhl (7-11) allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six over 4.2 innings to take the loss Friday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl allowed four home runs to force his early exit from the contest, as he dropped his 11th decision of the campaign. He entered this contest having allowed just seven earned runs over his last five starts, and he's still a strong fantasy option who is capable of helping teams win a championship. He'll make his next start Friday against the Cardinals.

Kuhl pitched six innings Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and five walks while striking out six. He didn't factor into the decision during the Pirates' 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl left the contest with the score tied 2-2 after a fine effort. Over his last two starts, Kuhl has tamed two NL Central rivals, first the Cubs and now the Cards, to the tune of one earned run over 13 innings, with 14 strikeouts. The five free passes in this contest were a bit worrisome, but Kuhl is showing more signs that he's worthy of at least fantasy streamer consideration for the rest of 2017 and that he's a name to watch in 2018.

Kuhl (7-10) pitched seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts during Monday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl entered Monday's start with an 11.70 ERA through three outings against the Cubs this season, so this was an encouraging showing from the surging youngster. The 24-year-old righty has found a groove in the second half and has now allowed three runs or fewer in eight of 10 starts since the All-Star break to improve his year-long numbers to a 4.32 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 7.9 K/9. Kuhl's strong run shouldn't be ignored down the fantasy stretch. He projects to make his next start against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

Kuhl (6-10) took the loss Tuesday against the Cubs after allowing three runs on seven hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl posted an uninspiring 4.50 ERA and 14:11 K:BB over his previous three starts, but surprisingly matched zeroes with Jake Arrieta through five innings. He fell apart in the sixth, however, surrendering three runs and two other base runners before being lifted with only one out. There's little reason to expect much improvement when he faces this same Chicago team in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Kuhl gave up two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Things could have been a lot worse for Kuhl given that he allowed 11 baserunners. He has been inconsistent throughout the season, but at least Kuhl has been able to avoid any real disasters since his nine-run implosion way back on April 24. Assuming the Pirates keep all of their starters on schedule and don't skip anyone, Kuhl will face the first-place Cubs in his next two starts.

Kuhl (6-8) allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out six across five innings to earn the win Saturday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl was provided a 5-1 lead in the second inning and finished out five strong innings to earn his sixth victory of the campaign. This is the third time in four outings that he's fired a quality start, but his 4.52 ERA to go along with a 1.41 WHIP makes him a lower-end fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Dodgers.

Kuhl (5-8) allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and five walks over five innings during Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays. He struck out six and was saddled with the loss.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage against Kuhl occurred in the opening frame Sunday, as the Blue Jays sent nine batters to the plate and tallied five runs, highlighted by a two-run shot off the bat of Josh Donaldson and a two-run double by Ryan Goins. Kuhl only threw 55 of his 96 pitches for strikes and has now walked five or more batters in three starts this season. He will carry a 4.64 ERA into his upcoming scheduled start against the hot-hitting Cardinals on Saturday.
