Besides that night, Bettis finished the year pretty strong, posting quality starts in four of his final six appearances. Bettis (13-8) allowed seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, struck out three and walked four over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.

It was an all-around bad game for the Rockies, as they fell 14-1. Colorado made three errors Saturday, but the Dodgers opened the scoring with four runs in the second, all of which were charged to Bettis. The Rockies starter yielded another earned run when Clayton Kershaw singled in the fifth. Bettis' four walks were also his most since Aug. 22. He has a 4.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 133 strikeouts in 179.1 innings.

Bettis (13-7) won after allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5.1 innings during Sunday's 6-3 win over the Padres.

Bettis beat the Padres again after going seven strong innings against them last Sunday. After struggling through much of the first half, the 27-year-old has been excellent since the Fourth of July, going 7-1 with a 3.40 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over his last 13 starts. He's been even better over his last four outings, posting a 2.22 ERA and 0.67 WHIP with 21 strikeouts and three walks in 28.1 innings. Bettis will look to keep rolling in his next start at the Dodgers on Saturday.
