Bettis (4-2) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing just one run on five hits while walking two and striking out four in Tuesday's win against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Bettis made his first appearance at Busch Stadium a memorable one. He did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, took a shutout into the seventh and also drove in a run. The righty worked at least six innings for the eighth consecutive start and got 11 outs on ground balls. It was a great outing on the road against one of the league's better offenses. He's got a fine 42:12 K:BB through 56 innings (nine starts) and will take a 4.18 ERA into his next start on Sunday against the Pirates.

Bettis (3-2) struck out a season-high eight batters over 6.1 innings in Wednesday's afternoon game against the Diamondbacks. He allowed four runs on nine hits without a walk and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
His 1.82 BB/9 over 49.1 innings is one of the best in the league, but his 6.93 K/9 is weak. Being a groundball pitcher (1.95 GB/FB) is extremely valuable for a pitcher whose home is Coors Field. Bettis has made eight starts this season, five of which were day games. Interestingly, he is 3-0 with a 3.16 ERA during the day, but 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA at night -- something to consider in daily leagues.

Bettis was roughed up in Friday's loss to the Giants, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander had tossed a quality start in four of five outings heading into Friday, but he gave up a season-high in runs as San Francisco consistently put men on base. Bettis' ERA rose to 4.40 because of Friday's struggles, and he will look to get back on track Wednesday at home against the Diamondbacks.

Bettis earned his third win of the season Sunday against Arizona, allowing three runs with four strikeouts and no walks over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been solid of late, and he continued his run of success by delivering a quality start in the face of a tough matchup. He is now 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA over his last five starts, and he will look to keep it rolling at San Francisco this Friday.

Bettis (2-1) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 6.2 innings in a loss Monday against the Pirates. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Bettis was fantastic until he fell apart in the seventh inning, when he allowed a hit and a pair of walks as he clearly ran out of gas. With his pitch count at 114 he was finally pulled, and the Rockies bullpen proceeded to allow both his inherited runners to score and stuck him with four runs on his line. Bettis was working on three consecutive quality starts and would have had a fourth if only his bullpen or his manager had done their jobs. His ERA sits at 3.77.

Bettis yielded three runs on three hits, including two home runs, in six innings against the Reds on Wednesday. He also struck out five and walked none.
EDGE Analysis
When the right-hander has run into trouble this season, it's usually the result of the long ball. Through four starts, Bettis has been charged with nine earned runs, and five of them have scored via home runs. That's not a good problem to have when you call Coors Field your home ballpark. Bettis' next outing is scheduled to be at home against the Pirates next Tuesday.

Bettis twirled six shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out four in a 6-1 decision over the Cubs on Friday afternoon.
EDGE Analysis
Bettis (2-0. 2.95 ERA) kept the Cubs off balance, but lasted just six innings as his pitch count reached 98 (just 58 strikes). He has proven to be competent at times, but inconsistent, and that is always dangerous when you pitch half of your games in Coors Field. However, he does get another road start, this time against the Reds in Cincinnati, next time out.

Bettis was sharp in Sunday's win over the Padres, allowing just one run with six strikeouts and no walks across seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was lit up for five runs at Arizona in his season debut, but he bounced back expertly with Sunday's performance. Bettis has shown himself to be a competent big league pitcher in the past, but consistency has prevented him from becoming a fantasy factor. He will look to build off of this start Friday at Wrigley Field.

Bettis took a no-decision as he allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks in 5.1 innings Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks torched Bettis, as four of the seven hits he allowed went for extra-bases, including a pair of home runs. Bettis's inability to find the strike zone -- he threw just 56 strikes in 98 pitches -- just made those mistakes more costly. Bettis had a 4.23 ERA but has just a 5.22 mark for his career, and that's the pitcher we saw Tuesday night.

Bettis has five strikeouts, two walks, and two earned runs allowed through seven innings this spring.
EDGE Analysis
After being one of the better starters for the Rockies last season, Bettis is off to a strong start this spring. He's holding batters to a .200 batting average against him and is showing poise by bouncing back after tough innings. The 26-year-old is expected to have a higher spot in the Colorado rotation along with Jorge De La Rosa, but if he continues to pitch well, he could even garner the start on Opening Day instead of the left-handed veteran.
