Mize allowed three runs on four hits, two walks and two hit batters while striking out six in six innings in a no-decision versus Seattle on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Mize lacked a bit of control, throwing just 56 of his 99 pitches for strikes. The right-hander still picked up a quality start for the seventh time in his last eight outings. He's pitched to a 3.44 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 59:22 K:BB across 70.2 innings this season. The 24-year-old is expected to make his next start in Kansas City next week.

Mize (3-4) allowed three runs across seven innings and took the loss Thursday against the White Sox. He gave up five hits and no walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Mize was tagged for solo home runs in each of the first two innings and then again in the seventh, but the young righty otherwise was very good in this one. Of course, allowing three homers is a bit disconcerting, though Mize's 1.4 HR/9 is down from the 2.2 figure he posted last season. Mize has also lowered his ERA from 6.99 in 2020 to 3.34 so far this year. He'll look to post another quality start and hopefully pick up a win his next time out, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Mariners.

Mize allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks while striking out seven across five innings in the win Friday over the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Mize's only run allowed came on a fifth inning solo home run by Rougned Odor. Mize tied his season-high seven strikeouts Friday. In addition, it was just his second start where he didn't issue any walks. The 24-year-old has a 3.28 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP with 47 strikeouts in 57.2 innings. He allowed 11 of his 21 earned runs this season in just two starts. His next scheduled start is Thursday against the White Sox.

Mize allowed a run on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus Kansas City on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Mize effectively limited Kansas City's offense for most of his start until Hanser Alberto hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. The right-hander missed out on the win when Carlos Santana hit a walkoff two-run home run to seal victory for Kansas City. Mize hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his four starts in May. The 24-year-old has a 3.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across 52.2 innings. He lines up for a home start versus the Yankees in next weekend's series.

Mize (3-3) allowed one run on three hits and three walks over 7.2 innings Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Mize matched his career high with seven strikeouts and tossed a career-best 7.2 innings while picking up his second straight win. The 6-foot-3 righty rolled through seven shutout frames before serving up a solo homer to Tom Murphy in the eighth. Over his last four starts, Mize has allowed seven runs across 25.2 innings, lowering his season ERA to 3.69. He's lined up to take the mound in Kansas City this weekend.

Mize (2-3) allowed two runs on three hits across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against Kansas City. He walked two and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers are just 12-24, but Mize has been holding his own lately. The 24-year-old has now logged three straight quality starts, though this was the first time he got a win for his efforts during the stretch. Mize has used the good run to lower his season ERA to 4.19 through seven starts, which is a nice sign of progress after he posted a 6.99 ERA across the same number of starts in his 2020 rookie campaign. He'll look to keep posting strong results his next time out Monday against the Mariners.

Mize didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-5 win over Boston in 10 innings after limiting the Red Sox to one run on three hits and four walks over six frames. He struck out three in the 95-pitch outing.
EDGE Analysis
With only eight swinging strikes on the night, Mize didn't overpower Boston, but limiting one of MLB's most potent offense to three base hits has to count as a win for the 24-year-old. The free passes remain somewhat of a concern, however; Mize has now issued at least three walks in each of his last three starts.

Mize (1-3) was charged with the loss Thursday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
A lack of run support ultimately handed Mize the loss after the 23-year-old turned in a strong performance. Mize looked sharp early on, blanking the White Sox through the first four frames. The right-hander stumbled in the fifth inning, surrendering all three of his runs by loading the bases on a walk and a pair of singles before a run came in from a ground out by Billy Hamilton, followed by a two-run single by Leury Garcia. Unfazed, Mize answered back in the sixth inning by working around a leadoff double and retiring his next three batters, sending his final two down on strikes. Mize will carry a 5.06 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into his next projected start Tuesday at Fenway Park.

Mize (1-2) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout in 4.2 innings in a loss to the Royals on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Mize allowed solo shots to Andrew Benintendi in the second inning and Ryan O'Hearn in the fourth. In the fifth, Mize got into trouble and was lifted for reliever Tyler Alexander. It's been a bit of a rough start to 2021 for Mize who has a 5.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB across 20.2 innings. He's given up 11 runs in his last two starts. The right-hander is expected to face the White Sox on Wednesday in his next start.
