Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown reports that Brian Wilson is hoping to join someone's major league bullpen by mid-August.
Brown says Wilson is drawing interest from four National League teams and one American League club. The Pirates, Diamondbacks, A's, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals were among the teams who scouted his throwing session this past Thursday. Wilson reportedly looked good in the session and should be used towards the back-end of someone's bullpen, though it remains to be seen whether he'll receive any offers to close.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that Brian Wilson has been drawing plenty of interest on the free agent market, and that he's expected to receive offers on Saturday.
The Pirates, Diamondbacks, A's, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals were among the teams who scouted his throwing session on Thursday, but there are other teams rumored to be interested as well. Those who are speculating for saves in deeper mixed leagues could want to stash Wilson now in case he winds up in a situation where he could close.

A scout told CBS Sports' Danny Knobler that Brian Wilson (elbow) "looked good" in a throwing session in front of interested teams Thursday.
"His fastball was 90-93 mph," the scout said. "[He's] not far away." The Pirates, Diamondbacks, A's, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals were among the teams scouting Wilson on Thursday, though it's not clear at this point who might be the favorite to sign him. He should catch on somewhere soon.

The Phillies will be one of the team's at Brian Wilson's (elbow) workout Thursday.
The Phils, at least at this point, still think they can make the playoffs, so they could be buyers at the deadline. They certainly need bullpen help, as they've lost Mike Adams for the season and their relief corps holds a 4.36 ERA. Wilson reported looked terrific during a private workout for the Giants Monday.

Brian Wilson (elbow) will throw for interested teams on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Wilson had a private throwing session for the Giants on Monday and reportedly looked "game ready," so it sounds like he could be signing on somewhere soon. The reliever hasn't appeared in a game since last April but should join someone's bullpen in August.

A source told Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com that Brian Wilson (elbow) was "impressive" and looked "game ready" during a throwing session Monday.
Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti stood in the batter's box as Wilson threw off a mound, while the team's bullpen catcher, Billy Hayes, caught the reliever. Though there was no radar gun in attendance, Baggarly's source estimated that Wilson topped out around 94 mph and had "terrific stuff." It appears that the Giants are legitimately interested in bringing their former closer back. Other teams will surely be in the hunt if he looks as good as the report claims.

Brian Wilson (elbow) is not expected to be ready to pitch for six more weeks.
Wilson has made enough progress that he could audition for teams around August 1, but it sounds like he won't be able to return until the final month of the season. Coming off Tommy John surgery, it remains to be seen what kind of market will develop for the 31-year-old closer. The Giants declined to offer Wilson a contract after the 2012 season, but are believed to still have some interest.

When Brian Wilson (elbow) auditions for teams within the next couple weeks, the Giants will be in attendance.
Wilson wasn't happy when the Giants declined to offer him a contract after the 2012 season, so it remains to be seen whether he'd consider re-signing with them. Updates on the righty's recovery from Tommy John surgery have been hard to come by, but he's evidently made enough progress that he's expected to throw for teams around August 1.

ESPN's Buster Olney hears that teams are aware that Brian Wilson (elbow) could audition for scouts around August 1.
Wilson had Tommy John surgery last April and has been working out in Hawaii recently. After some auditions didn't go as hoped this spring, the thought was that he would wait until he was closer to 100 percent to throw for teams again, so it sounds like he's getting close.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that Brian Wilson (elbow) has been working out in Hawaii and making progress.
It's not clear how much throwing Wilson, who is coming back from last April's Tommy John surgery, has done. Olney speculates that if Wilson intends on pitching this season, he'll throw for scouts later this month or in early August. It's probably a longshot that anyone would consider him for a closing gig at this point.
