McCann is day-to-day after hyper-extending his left elbow in Toronto, the New York Daily News' Mark Feinsand reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCann was out of the lineup for the second straight day Friday, and now we know why. While he is listed as day-to-day, it would not be surprising if he was given the rest of the weekend to rest. Unfortunately for the Yankees, their top catching prospect, Gary Sanchez, is on the DL at Triple-A with a cracked thumb, so he is not an option to serve as a short-term replacement. Instead, those duties go to Austin Romine.

McCann is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles, the New York Daily News' Mark Feinsand reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has now missed back-to-back games, and with a righty on the mound Friday for Baltimore, it's fair to wonder if McCann is fully healthy. He is in the midst of an awful slump, so it makes sense to give him a breather, but conventional wisdom would have had him back in the lineup Friday. Austin Romine will get the start at catcher and hit ninth.

McCann is out of the lineup Thursday, LoHud's Chad Jennings reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees' starting backstop has one hit in his last 23 at-bats, so he's slumping about as hard as a big league hitter can right now. Even with that slump, McCann has a .321 OBP and .401 SLG, so he'll remain the Yankees' go-to catcher, but it's been a rough couple weeks for his fantasy owners. Austin Romine will start at catcher and hit seventh Thursday.

McCann is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
As is often the case, McCann will take a seat Tuesday with the Yankees facing southpaw J.A Happ. Austin Romine will take over catching duties Tuesday and bat seventh in the order. McCann figures to rejoin the Yankees' lineup for Wednesday's series finale in Toronto.

McCann hit his seventh home run, a two-run shot, in a 1-for-4 game Monday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
McCann has been mired in a brutal slump, as he hasn't had a multi-hit game since May 15 against the White Sox. He was just 3 for his last 34 (.088) entering Monday's game, so he badly needed something to get things turned around. Even with the slump, McCann has a respectable .231/.325/.413 batting line, so if he can find a hot streak, he can turn around his season quickly.

McCann is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Matt Moore on the hill for Tampa Bay, Austin Romine will take over behind the dish Saturday in place of McCann. He figures to return to the lineup Sunday when the Rays start right-hander Jake Odorizzi.

McCann is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees are facing knuckleballer R.A Dickey on Tuesday, a pitcher that has given McCann fits over the years. McCann owns a .158/.273/.237 slash line with six strikeouts and one home run in 38 career at-bats against Dickey. Thus, manager Joe Girardi will plug Austin Romine in behind the plate for Tuesday's contest. McCann figures to rejoin the lineup Wednesday against righty Marco Estrada.

McCann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
The blast was his sixth of the season and it tied things up at one early in the contest. McCann has had a solid year at the plate overall, as his .258 average would be his best since the 2011 season.

McCann is out of the lineup Monday, Jack Magruder of Fanragsports reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCann will get the night off as the Yankees have elected to avoid the lefty-lefty matchup with southpaw Robbie Ray on the mound for Arizona. Austin Romine will fill in for McCann behind the dish Monday.

McCann went 2-for-4 with a solo shot, his fifth home run of the season, in Sunday's win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He's picked up the pace offensively in May, and McCann now has two home runs and 10 RBI in just 40 at-bats on the month after managing just seven RBI in April.
