McCann will get the night off with the Yankees loading up on right-handed hitters against White Sox ace Chris Sale. Austin Romine will get the start behind the plate in McCann's place.

McCann went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
McCann has been one of the few Yankee bats to have sustained success in the early portion of the season, as the three-hit night raised his average to .286. He'll continue to get somewhat regular days off, but right now he leads all qualifying AL catchers in average and ranks second in home runs.

McCann went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run in Wednesday's 7-0 victory against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees offense has been awful through the early goings of the 2016 season, and McCann has been a major contributor to that. He's striking out at a career-high rate and his contact rate is lower than ever before. He's been the beneficiary of a .354 BABIP, well above his career average of .282. Although Wednesday night's game was solid, the catcher has a lot of mileage under his belt and the numbers indicate that the tread on his tires is running thin.

This appears to be a regular day off for McCann with left-hander Cesar Ramos taking the hill for Texas. Austin Romine will slot in behind the dish in his stead.

McCann was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run in the Yankees win over Tampa Bay on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
McCann is off to a solid start, batting .302 with three homers and seven RBI. While he hit sixth in this one against southpaw Matt Moore, he should get plenty of opportunities to drive in runs batting in the middle of a potentially potent lineup.

McCann took reps at first base Thursday, the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees have no natural backup to Mark Teixeira at first base after Greg Bird went down for the season in the spring, so this move would allow McCann's bat to stay in the lineup more often while not taxing his legs with catching duties. It's unclear if the club actually plans on inserting him there during game action, but the catcher likely won't see too much time at first regardless.

McCann is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
According to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, manager Joe Girardi is looking to use a predominantly right-handed lineup Thursday with the Yankees facing southpaw Rich Hill. Thus, Austin Romine will draw the start in McCann's place Thursday. The Yankees will be facing lefty Matt Moore for Friday's series opener against the Rays, so there is some potential that McCann sits out for the Yankees' next two games.

McCann (toe) is back in the lineup Thursday, batting fifth and playing catcher, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCann sat out of Wednesday's lineup due to an ailing toe, but he'll slot back into the lineup Thursday against right-hander Marcus Stroman. Thankfully, the catcher's toe injury appears to just be a bruise, so he should be able to resume his role as the primary backstop for the Yankees.

McCann (toe) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays, The Lower Hudson Journal News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees were already expected to give McCann the day off Wednesday after he fouled a ball off his toe in his last outing, and now it has been made official. McCann rarely plays when the Yankees face left-handers to begin with, so it's possible he would have been replaced behind the plate by Austin Romine on Wednesday regardless of his toe injury. The veteran McCann should be considered day-to-day heading into Thursday's series finale against the Blue Jays.
