Brad Hand racked up six strikeouts in five perfect innings on Saturday as four Marlins hurlers combined to no-hit the Yankees in Panama.
Steve Cishek worked the sixth inning, and walked one, but kept the no-hit bid intact. A.J. Ramos continued the effort through the seventh and eighth innings, and Arquimedes Caminero closed it out with a perfect ninth. The 23-year-old Hand has compiled a 0.75 ERA and 15/2 K/BB ratio through 13 innings this spring, which could springboard him to a spot in the Opening Day rotation.

Brad Hand fanned five in three scoreless innings Monday in the Marlins' 11-1 drubbing of the Mets.
Hand entered camp seemingly fourth in line for the fifth spot in the Marlins' rotation, but since he's throwing well and he's out of options, his chances of a roster spot have improved considerably. He's allowed one run and amassed a 9/2 K/BB ratio in seven innings.

Brad Hand allowed one run and two hits in two innings Sunday in his start versus the Nationals.
The Hand-Fister matchup played to a draw, with Brad and Doug both pitching two innings of one-run ball. Hand struck out two and walked none. He hasn't been much of a factor in Miami since making 12 starts as a 21-year-old in 2011, but he's not without some potential. Since he's now out of options, the Marlins might choose to carry him as a reliever.

Brad Hand allowed two runs over 6 1/3 innings of a no-decision against the Phillies on Wednesday.
Hand allowed seven hits and a walk, striking out just three. It was just his second career start, and the left-hander now owns a 3.05 ERA over 20 2/3 innings. The 23-year-old may be in contention for a rotation spot next season after this year's showing.

Brad Hand was touched up for four runs over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mets on Friday.
Making his first start in the majors this season, Hand had the lead until he gave up a three-run homer to Lucas Duda in his final inning of work. He struck out four and walked two in the loss. Hand may keep a rotation spot the rest of the way, but he's not worth grabbing in most fantasy leagues.

Marlins recalled LHP Brad Hand from Triple-A New Orleans.
The Marlins needed an extra arm after Monday's 15-inning game. Hand had a 2.00 ERA in five starts for the Zephyrs, but he's likely just up to provide some bullpen depth for a couple of days.

Marlins optioned LHP Brad Hand, RHPs Evan Reed, Alex Sanabia and OF Kyle Jensen to Triple-A New Orleans; RHP Sam Dyson, LHP Edgar Olmos and OF Marcell Ozuna to Double-A Jacksonville.
Hand had an outside shot at a rotation spot this spring, but he allowed four runs and walked five over his first three innings to earn a ticket to minor league camp. He could get a chance with the big club at some point this season.

Brad Hand walked four and was charged with two runs while getting just two outs Saturday against the Cardinals.
Hand was decent as a 21-year-old rookie for the Marlins in 2011, posting a 4.20 ERA in 12 starts, but he made just one major league start in a 2012 season spent mostly in Triple-A and he's turned into an afterthought now. He'll probably be sent to minor league camp pretty early in the spring.
