Colon allowed six runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings in the Mets' 7-2 loss to the Phillies on Saturday. Colon was rolling, shutting out the Phillies through four before Marlon Byrd homered leading off the fifth. It fell apart for Colon in the sixth, as he allowed singles to six of the first seven batters he faced before getting pulled. Unless a team makes a last minute offer to the Mets, it looks like Colon will remain with the team for the remainder of 2014, but possibly get dealt this off-season.

Colon is drawing trade interest after clearing revocable waivers but the Mets' ability to deal him may depend on how much of next year's $11-million salary they are willing to cover, Andy Martino of the NY Daily News reports. The Dodgers, Royals and Angels are all believed to have varying degrees of ingest in Colon. The Mets reportedly are willing to lay up to $2 million of his 2015 salary, though that might not be sufficient enough to make a deal or get an attractive enough package to warrant trading him as opposed to the off-season. Colon is slated to start Saturday, which may depend on how close the Mets are to dealing him with the trade deadline to be eligible for the post-season Sunday.

Colon allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five in six innings in the Mets' 11-3 win over the Dodgers. Colon earned his 12th win of the year in the start. He has now put together three straight quality starts, allowing four runs total. His ERA moved to 3.82 after the strong outing. He'll be back on the mound Saturday against the Phillies.

Colon was reinstated from the bereavement list Friday. The right-hander has rejoined the Mets after spending several days away with his critically ill mother, and is listed as the probable starter for Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers. Colon has turned in quality starts in four of his last five turns, with the lone hiccup being a six-run outing against the Giants on Aug. 3.

Colon (personal) will be placed on the bereavement list, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Colon was scratched from Monday's start to spend time with his ailing mother, who is dealing with a critical illness. The Mets will give Colon all the time he needs to take care of things on the personal front, with Carlos Torres temporarily taking his spot in the rotation and Gonzalez German coming up from Triple-A Las Vegas to take his spot on the active roster.

Colon will not start Monday against the Cubs. Colon flew home to visit his critically ill mother Monday and will be replaced by Carlos Torres on the mound. It's unclear how long he will require, but the team will likely offer sufficient time for him to do what he needs.

Colon allowed two runs - one earned - on six hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in seven innings in the Mets' 2-1 loss to the Nationals on Wednesday. Colon was able to work in-and-out of trouble while also mixing in dominant innings. He was cruising into the seventh, but surrendered a leadoff double and then a single, which resulted in a Juan Lagares error, putting both runners in scoring position. A pair of sacrifice flies plated both runs, making Colon, who continues to pitch well, a hard-luck loser.

Colon turned in eight strong innings Friday night versus the Phillies, giving up just one run on six hits while picking up six strikeouts en route to the 200th victory of his career. After struggling in his first attempt to reach the 200-win milestone, Colon bounced back for a brilliant effort Friday night. Obviously, the 41-year-old veteran has had a successful career in the big leagues over the past 17 years and seems to still have quite a bit left in the tank. Colon will carry an 11-9 record and sub-4.00 ERA into Wednesday's outing versus the Nationals.

Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that the Mets don't expect to trade Bartolo Colon prior to Thursday's deadline. Puma says the Mets aren't willing to eat any of the $13 million owed to Colon, which conflicts with what Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reported last week (he said they'd be willing to eat $2 million). CBS Sports' Jon Heyman noted Tuesday that there "doesn't appear to be a great market" for Colon. The Royals, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Pirates and Braves have been connected to the righty.
