Colon allowed two runs on six hits, walking two and striking out three over six innings of a 5-3 victory against the Braves on Friday night.
Colon (9-4, 4.41 ERA) continues to pick up wins, but there have been hints that he isn't as sharp as he was early in the season. He walked two in this one - very unusual in itself - and he needed 100 pitches (65 for strikes) to cover six innings. The Mets have a log jam in their rotation and need space for younger arms so Colon has been mentioned in trade speculation, but while his WHIP will probably remain pretty attractive, his ERA and strikeout totals probably won't help, and wins, of course, are always tough to tack down.

Colon was a hard-luck loser Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings in the Mets' 2-1 defeat by Arizona.
Colon cruised through the first 6.2 innings, then surrendered a line drive single to Chris Owings that dropped in front of Michael Cuddyer, who was playing deep in no-extra base hit defense. Welington Castillo homered on the next pitch just over the left field fence to make a loser of Colon,

Colon became the National League's first eight-game winner Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with two strikeouts over seven innings in the Mets' 4-3 victory over the Marlins.
Colon was the beneficiary of New York in the bottom of the seventh inning and a five-out save from Jeurys Familia to get the victory. In addition, he ripped a double in the left-center field gap to drive in a run that while on the basepaths, the game broadcasters said he speed on the bases was being measured by a sundial. Despite his portly frame, Colon has shown he is durable and is more than halfway to the 15 wins he notched last year.

Colon gave up three earned runs on six hits across six innings in Monday's win over Philadelphia.
Colon walked two batters and struck out six on his way to win number seven on the season. He's now 7-3 with a 4.82 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Colon had struggled over his last few starts, but seems to be getting back on track. He'll get the Marlins at home in his next start to look for win number eight.

Colon (6-3) was hammered for nine runs (eight earned) on 11 hits and a pair of walks over 4.1 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Regression has come painfully for Colon, who's been torn up to the tune of 26 hits -- five of them homers -- and 17 earned runs over 15.1 innings in his last three starts. In fact, Colon's only prevented the opposing offense from hitting a home run one time in nine tries. The bright side of being around the plate so much is that Colon still has an insane 46:3 K:BB for the season, but he's clearly an ERA risk with the amount of contact he gives up. He'll draw the Phillies on Monday.

Colon allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out two over five innings of a 7-0 loss to the Brewers on Friday night.
Colon (6-2, 3.86 ERA) is always around the plate (he hasn't walked a hitter since his first start of the season) tossing 52 of 62 pitches for strikes, but he allowed two more home runs which has been his downfall. He typically limits the damage by not issuing free passes, but he can be pretty hittable which is always a concern.

Colon tossed six innings and picked up his sixth win of the season in Sunday's victory over the Phillies. He allowed four earned runs, eight hits, and posted a 6:0 K:BB ratio in the game.
The four earned runs tied a season high for Colon and he also allowed a home run for the sixth time in seven starts, but that did not prevent him from coming away with another victory. Colon owns a 0.99 WHIP on the season and has yet to walk a batter since Opening Day.

Colon was masterful Tuesday, allowing six hits and one run while striking out nine to earn his MLB-leading fifth win in the Mets 3-2 victory over the Orioles.
Colon struggled with his fastball early, but was able to utilize his slider and change-up to retire hitters. He has walked just one batter in 40 innings so far this season, which looks even more amazing when compared to his 34 strikeouts. Colon's BABIP is likely to rise, which will mean some regression, but his ability to add and take off his fastball should enable him to weather the storm.

Colon (4-1) took his first loss of the year Wednesday in Miami, giving up four runs on nine hits over 6.2 innings. He struck out two without a walk.
Despite this being his worst start of the year, Colon continued to show masterful control, as he avoided walking a batter for the fourth consecutive outing and has issued just one base on balls all year. That's helped Colon keep his WHIP down so far -- it's still just 0.98 -- but considering that he's only posted a marker under 1.20 once in the last eight seasons, it seems likely that there are some more course corrections to come.
