Colon (thumb) left Tuesday's game against the Royals with a right thumb contusion as X-rays came back negative, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nothing in Colon's hand was broken after Whit Merrifield lined a comebacker right off his wrist in the first inning of Tuesday's outing. There is no word on whether the veteran will miss his next start, but Colon is fortunate to not have fractured anything after leaving the game having only thrown four pitches.

Colon was forced to leave Tuesday's game after being hit on the wrist by a comebacker, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
A line drive off the bat of Whit Merrifield (Colon's first batter faced) hit the 43-year-old on the wrist, forcing him from the game after four pitches. Hansel Robles came on in relief, but if Colon is forced to miss additional time, Sean Gilmartin could step in for spot start.

Colon will start Tuesday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Colon was initially slated to get the ball Wednesday -- also against the Royals -- but the Mets are electing to move the 43-year-old forward by a day and have Noah Syndergaard move back to Wednesday. He's coming off one of his best outings of the season, striking out a season-high eight batters while allowing just two runs over 7.2 innings in a winning effort against the Pirates.

Colon (6-3) struck out a season-high eight hitters over 7.2 strong frames in a win against the Pirates on Thursday. He allowed two runs on seven hits without a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates couldn't get anything going against the old man until Matt Joyce slugged a homer off Colon to open the eighth inning. Indeed, Colon just keeps on trucking, having lowered his season ERA to a shiny 3.01 to go along with a sparkling 4.31 K/BB. He's put a couple rough starts in mid-May well behind him now, having given up two or fewer runs in five consecutive outings. Colon's next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Royals.

Colon (5-3) held the Brewers to a single run on eight hits over seven innings in Thursday's win, striking out two without a walk.
EDGE Analysis
This right here is your typical Colon outing, albeit with a bit more length -- few walks, few strikeouts, and a ton of balls in play. Often, that works to his advantage; sometimes, the batted-ball luck works against him. This was one of the better ones, thanks in no small part to Colon himself initiating a pair of double plays as well as a pickoff. In fact, he's allowed two or fewer runs in four consecutive outings since a patch of mid-May struggles. That said, Colon's shiny 3.08 ERA is going to be awfully hard to maintain -- his 1.22 WHIP is nearly identical to the last two seasons, and he ended up with an ERA north of 4.00 in each of those campaigns. Major League Baseball's oldest active player is also sitting on the highest rates of line drives and hard-hit balls in his career, suggesting that Colon's standard-looking .299 BABIP is in fact likely to head north as the season wears on.

Colon (4-3) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, struck out one and walked one over five innings in a no-decision against the Marlins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He still has strong numbers, but one of the keys to Colon's success in recent years is his stellar K/BB ratio. Last season, he had a career-best 5.67 K/BB, but this year, that's dropped to 3.54. Over his last four starts, he has just a 1.11 K/BB ratio. Colon hasn't given up a ton of runs during that stretch, but he's only won one decision. Overtime, the fewer strikeouts and more walks could catch up to Colon. He will make his next start Thursday against the Brewers.

Colon allowed two runs with three strikeouts and one walk across six innings Sunday versus the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Colon yielded just one extra-base hit Sunday and lowered his season ERA to 3.39 with the quality start, but he was simply out-dueled by Clayton Kershaw in this one but was let off the hook by the Dodgers' shaky bullpen. The veteran continues to do the job every fifth day, and he will look to get back in the win column Friday at the Marlins.

Colon (4-3) rebounded from last week's loss to the Nationals by limiting them to just one run on five hits over seven innings in Monday's win. He walked two and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Monday was Colon's best outing since May 2 when he tossed eight scoreless innings against the Braves. His two strikeouts were a season low for the veteran (not counting his first start on April 3 cut short by rain). For the first time this season, the righty avoided giving up a home run in consecutive games. Colon continues to be a productive fantasy asset for the third straight decade.

Colon (3-3) had a rough time against the Nationals on Wednesday, giving up five hits, five walks, a hit batsman and three runs over 4.2 innings in a 7-1 loss.
EDGE Analysis
He was fortunate to put 11 men on and yet give up just the three runs thanks to playing Houdini through the first four innings, but Colon let the Nats break a 1-1 tie in the fifth and was lifted after requiring 107 pitches to get just 14 outs. After the nearly 43-year-old righty put up a 2.82 ERA through his first seven appearances (six starts), regression seemed inevitable, and it's struck hard in his last two outings. That said, Wednesday's control problems were highly unusual for Colon -- he actually walked more batters in this one start than he had in 43.1 innings coming in. Unfortunately for Colon and his fantasy owners, he'll have to face these same hard-hitting Nationals again Monday.

Colon (3-2) gave up five runs on seven hits over five innings in a shutout loss to the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He had the misfortune of being matched up against Clayton Kershaw, who tossed a three-hit shutout on the other end, but it didn't exactly take a masterful performance to beat Colon in this one. Of course, he was about due for a dud, as Colon hadn't allowed more than three runs in any of his first six starts this season; the guy's good fortune can't last forever. He'll draw a tough one in his next start, which will come against the Nationals on Wednesday.
