Miller recorded his ninth save of the season as he worked a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Red Sox.
Miller has been absolutely spectacular this year as he's closed out a perfect nine for nine save opportunities. He's yet to give up an earned run and has struck out 21 batters. Miller is a top of the line closer option moving forward.

Miller had a night off Tuesday, with Chris Martin earning the save for the Yankees against the Rays.
This was a simple break for Miller, who has eight saves on the season already. He has yet to give up a run in 9.1 innings and has only walked four total batters.

Miller walked two and struck out one in recording a one-out save in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.
The Tigers threatened in the bottom of the ninth as the winning run was at the plate with the bases loaded, but Miller induced a swinging strikeout to earn his fifth save. Dellin Betances was once again used in more of a setup role, so Miller seems to be the go-to closer even if manager Joe Girardi hasn't officially tabbed him as such.

Miller gave up one hit and struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning against the Rays on Sunday en route to his fourth save of the season.
The Yankees' new closer has racked up 12 strikeouts in just six innings on the season and has still not given up a run. Miller should retain his hold on the closer's role in The Bronx as long as he continues to post these stellar numbers.

Miller notched his third save with a four-out appearance against Tampa Bay on Friday night.
He allowed one hit, striking out three, and is now 3-for-3 in save chances for 2015. Dellin Betances preceded him to the mound, so at least for the time being, Miller appears to be the first choice for save opportunities. However, this could potentially be a fluid situation all year.

Miller recorded a five-out save, striking out three, in Monday's win against the Orioles.
Miller has now picked up both saves for the Yankees this year while Dellin Betances once again look shaky as he allowed two hits and two walks in an inning of work. Manager Joe Girardi has yet to change from his stance that the two will form a closing tandem based on matchups, but Miller looks like the safer bet of the pair to see more save opportunities going forward.

Miller worked a perfect ninth inning Wednesday against the Blue Jays to get the save.
Meanwhile, Dellin Betances worked a sloppy eighth inning but got the win when the Yankees rallied in the bottom of the inning. The Yankees said that they would mix-and-match between the two pitchers, but right now Miller is the better bet to get the next save chance.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated that both Miller and Dellin Betances will split eighth and ninth inning roles rather than name a single closer, The Westchester Journal News reports.
All signs had seemingly pointed to Betances having the inside track on the closer's role, but barring a last minute change of heart it appears that Girardi will turn to Miller in the ninth inning if multiple lefties are due up. The lefty figures to be a solid source of saves and has been going at cheaper rates in drafts due to the lack of clarity in the Yankees' bullpen situation, but could still be relegated to a full-time setup role if Girardi opts to eventually change courses and go a more traditional route.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that he is not close to naming a closer and that it's possible he will go into the season without giving that designation to Miller or Dellin Betances, Newsday reports.
While Betances has previously been suggested as the favorite for the job, it remains possible that Girardi will mix and match this season without settling on one reliever as a ninth-inning option. Miller has been significantly cheaper than Betances in drafts this spring, perhaps offering a cheap path to saves with a nice supply of strikeouts and good ratios, depending on the course Girardi opts to take with his shutdown relievers.

Miller will enter spring training with the opportunity to earn the closer role, MLB.com reports.Miller will be mainly competing with Dellin Betances for the ninth inning role, though they each only have one career save. Manager Joe Girardi left open the possibility that he could implement a dual closer position split between the two, but the final decision likely won't be made until near the end of the spring.
