X-rays on Miller's wrist came back negative Wednesday but the reliever will still require a follow-up CT-scan in the near future, Jack Curry of the YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Miller has cleared the first medical hurdle after leaving Wednesday's game when he took a comebacker off his non-pitching wrist. Still, he won't be completely in the clear until the results of the CT-scan are made available. Curry is reporting that Miller will likely undergo the CT-scan later Wednesday, so the Yankees will likely provide a follow up Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Miller has been sent back to Tampa to undergo X-rays and a CT scan on his right wrist, Newsday's Erik Boland reports.
EDGE Analysis
A line drive hit Miller on his non-throwing hand during Wednesday's exhibition, and he dropped his glove and immediately walked off the field. The wrist is bruised, and the tests will determine the full extent of the injury. Dellin Betances is next in line to close with Aroldis Chapman suspended for the first 30 games.

Miller left Wednesday's game after being hit in the right wrist with a line drive, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thankfully, the ball hit Miller's non-pitching hand, but it still is not encouraging to see that he left the game immediately following the blow. His status should become clearer once the Yankees' trainers have a chance to take a look at the left-hander's wrist.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman confirmed Wednesday morning that Miller will close while teammate Aroldis Chapman serves a 30-game suspension to begin the season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the opportunity to close until the first half of May, Miller has a path to double-digit saves while handling the closer duties in the Bronx. Even as a setup man, his combination of a high strikeout rate with elite ratios was enough to put him on the radar in mixed leagues, and the early-season uptick in value will increase his stock even further.

Miller will likely begin the season as the team's closer in the wake of Alrodis Chapman's 30-game suspension.
EDGE Analysis
Chapman was acquired over the offseason to be the Yankees' new closer, but now that he'll miss the first month, Miller figures to reprise his role from last year. Manager Joe Girardi has yet to make an official determination, so it's possible he'll ultimately elect to mix-and-match with Dellin Betances as well, but Miller should see the majority of save opportunities in the opening 30 contests after saving 36 games in 2015.

Miller struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to notch his 36th save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
He's now converted two straight opportunities since blowing a save against the Blue Jays on Sept. 22, one of only two saves he's blown all year. Miller remains locked in as the Yankees closer.

Miller allowed a hit and struck out two batters en route to his 35th save in a win over the White Son on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Miller threw all 10 of his pitches for strikes and it shows you how dangerous he can be. Recording 95 strikeouts in 58.1 innings is absolutely ridiculous and it seems like a good bet that he'll be the number one drafted closer going into drafts next season.

Miller (3-2) picked up the victory in a 6-4 defeat of the Blue Jays on Tuesday despite surrendering three hits, two earned runs and two walks over two innings. He also struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Miller was charged with protecting a 3-2 lead in the ninth and promptly surrendered a one-out, game-tying homer to Dioner Navarro. The ill-timed gopher ball was the first given up by hard-throwing reliever since a July 22 outing against the Orioles, a span of 22 outings leading into Tuesday's contest. After the Yankees had taken a 6-4 lead in the top of the 10th, Miller then gave up a 404-foot shot to Edwin Encarnacion to make things interesting in the home half of the inning. Despite the mistakes, Miller was able to avoid further damage and preserve the extra-inning victory. The four whiffs by the veteran reliever in Tuesday's appearance also give him a remarkable 23 in just 11 September innings.

Miller struck out the side in order for his 34th save Wednesday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Miller is on an absolute strikeout binge right now. He's been called on for saves against the Rays twice in the last three days, and he's struck out all six batters he's faced. In fact, if you go back to the appearance before that, he's struck out 10 of the last 12 batters he's faced (and the other two made outs, too). Over the months of August and September, he's pitched 20 innings, during which he's struck out 35 batters while allowing 14 hits, four walks and four runs.

Miller secured his 33rd save of the season Monday, striking out the side in a 4-1 win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Miller has been untouchable lately, pitching to a 0.69 ERA with 25 strikeouts in his last 13 innings. Having gone 33-for-34 in save opportunities, Miller has been one of baseball's most reliable closers in his first full season with the job.
