Andrew Miller left Saturday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent ankle injury. Miller was hurt as he ran to cover home, and he needed help off the field. If he's put on the DL, the Red Sox could recall Pedro Beato or Jose De La Torre. Ryan Rowland-Smith might be more worthy of a look, but the Red Sox might not want to put him on the 40-man roster right now.

Andrew Miller is proving his 2012 breakout was no fluke, posting a 3.86 ERA and 24/8 K/BB rate over 20 appearances. The sixth overall pick in 2006 has successfully saved his career in Boston's bullpen. Miller went 21-29 with a 5.79 ERA between 2006-2011, mostly as a starter for the Tigers, Marlins and Red Sox. He hasn't started a game in the last two seasons and has rewarded Boston with a 3.48 ERA over 73 appearances. Miller's current strikeout rate is by far the best of his career.

Red Sox and LHP Andrew Miller avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.475 million contract. The former #6 overall pick was eligible for arbitration for the second time and will earn a raise over the $1.04 million he earned a season ago. He found a home as a left-handed specialist in the Red Sox bullpen in 2012, posting a 3.35 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 51/20 K/BB ratio in 40 1/3 innings of work.

Andrew Miller (hamstring) walked four over 1 1/3 scoreless innings Thursday in his latest minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Pawtucket. While Miller struck out three and didn't allow a run, he threw just 20 out of 50 pitches for strikes. The Red Sox were considering activating him after Thursday's appearance, but he'll likely need to show a little more consistency first. His 30-day rehab window closes on May 7, so there's no rush.

If it goes well, he could be activated from the disabled list and added to the battered Boston bullpen this weekend.
