Gordon is not in the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon has struggled at the plate all season, and recent games have been no exception. Over the last seven outings he's gone 5-for-23 (.217) and been fanned seven times. He'll have the night off as Whit Merrifield gets deployed to left field.

Gordon hit just .184/.268/.218 with no home runs over 97 plate appearances in the campaign's opening month.
EDGE Analysis
For the first time in his 11-year career, Gordon will enter May without a home run. The outfielder isn't squaring the ball up like he has in year's past. His sub-23 percent hard-hit rate is way off his career mark of 31.6 percent, and Gordon's making soft contact more often than ever. The sample size is small, but the 33-year-old isn't getting any younger, and Gordon's early-season numbers raise more than one red flag.

Gordon will start in left field and bat sixth in the order Sunday against the Rangers, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
With zero homers and a .253 on-base percentage over 75 plate appearances this season, Gordon hasn't been getting it done as the Royals' leadoff hitter, so manager Ned Yost will move the veteran down in the order and give veteran Whit Merrifield a spin atop the lineup. It's not out of the question for Gordon to eventually regain leadoff duties, but he'll likely first have to turn in a solid stretch of at-bats lower in the lineup before that happens. Given that Gordon's production had already been on the decline last season prior to his plodding start to 2017, it may not be wise to bet on a major bounce back from the 34-year-old.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and walked once in Friday's win over Houston.
EDGE Analysis
The outfield had logged just one hit through his first 12 at-bats of the season before breaking through Friday night. His two-out double in the eighth inning drove in two runs and sealed the Royals first victory of the season. After averaging nearly 80 RBI per season from 2011-14, Gordon has struggled to stay healthy while posting just 88 total RBI over the past two campaigns. If he can avoid the DL in 2017, the 33-year-old is still capable of providing production closer to what was seen during his heydays.

Gordon has served as the Royals' leadoff hitter in their first two games of the season, going 1-for-7 at the dish.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Gordon's starts have come against a right- and left-handed starting pitcher, so it appears as though manager Ned Yost is at least temporarily committed to using the veteran outfielder as his regular table setter after Gordon primarily occupied the five hole in 2016. The 33-year-old has historically turned in strong on-base percentages to go along with a solid blend of pop and speed, but his lack of consistent health throughout his career may finally be catching up to him. He saw his contact rate take a major dive last season after missing time with a sprained wrist, so he may need to make a swift rebound in that area in order to stick at the top of the order for the long haul.

Gordon is 12-for-30 with a homer, five RBI, and two steals this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Most importantly, he appears to be healthy after a sprained wrist slowed him in the first half of 2016. In addition to the time lost due to injury, it's fair to wonder how much of Gordon's decline last season was a result of playing through the ailment. He's missed chunks of each the past two seasons, but Gordon could prove to be a nice late-round value if he stays on the field for 150-plus games as he did each season from 2011-2014.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Indians, according to Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals are using a righty-heavy lineup Friday against Indians starter Ryan Merritt, so Gordon will open on the bench while Billy Burns gets the start in left field

Gordon went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his 17th of the year but just his third in September, as Gordon is slashing a weak .224/.298/.408 in 76 at-bats over the final month. The 32-year-old is headed for his worst numbers since his breakout 2011 campaign, and the Royals may already be regretting the four-year contract they inked him to back in January.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup with the White Sox, Josh Vernier of 610 KCSP reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon is hitless in his past five games, and with tough left-hander Chris Sale toeing the rubber for Chicago, the 32-year-old will head to the bench for a day off. Whit Merrifield will replace him in left field for the evening.

Gordon went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run in his return to the lineup Monday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
After missing a game and a half with achilles soreness, Gordon came back without missing a beat Monday. While hitting just .225 on the season, Gordon has come on strong in the last month or so, going .278/.361/.519 in his last 30 games. He could be of some value for fantasy owners searching for an outfielder for the final stretch of the season.
