Gordon could see more off-days over the rest of the season, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals now have a surplus of outfielders with Melky Cabrera joining the fray Monday, and although Cabrera is expected to primarily play right field, the newly acquired outfielder's primary position is left field. This, paired with Jorge Bonifacio's strong showing as the primary right fielder, could lead to Gordon riding the bench more frequently if eh isn't able to pick things up at the plate. The veteran outfielder is batting just .201 on the season and .231 since the All-Star break, so it wouldn't be too surprising to see him squeezed out of the lineup despite his stellar defense.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's victory over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder has largely been a disappointment this season, but he's beginning to catch fire with the bat. Gordon has hits in six of the past seven games and is now hitting .313 since the All-Star break. He only has two extra-base hits in that span, but it seems like things are starting to trend upward for the 33-year-old.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon will wrap up his brutal first half of the season on the bench. The 33-year-old currently sports a .195 average with just five home runs and 26 RBI. Jorge Soler will take over in left field.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
It's his first multi-hit performance since June 15 and first multi-RBI game in over two months, highlighting what a struggle 2017 has been for Gordon. The 33-year-old might yet heat up in the second half, but his fantasy value will remain limited as long as he's exiled to the bottom of the Royals' batting order.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, 610 Sports Radio - Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon will sit out for the second time in the team's last past four contests as the Royals close out their weekend series against Francisco Liriano and the Blue Jays. Whit Merrifield draws the start in left field, while Ramon Torres will take over at the keystone.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matinee against the Red Sox, 610 Sports Radio - Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon has played in 12 consecutive games, but is just 1-for-13 with six strikeouts over the past four contests, so he'll get a routine day to clear his head. Whit Merrifield moves to left field while Ramon Torres gets the start at second base.

Gordon's recent turnaround is the result of a mechanical adjustment to his swing, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports
EDGE Analysis
As recently as June 2, Gordon sat at .172 with no home runs and nine RBI. He hadn't even hit a double in almost a month, and was slugging just .202 at the time. That's when Royals hitting coach Dale Sveum suggested Gordon's load was off. "You have to go back to go forward, at least with any power," Sveum said. "He was getting to his front side with no power behind his swing." The outfielder made adjustments, and as a result, has since looked like the guy who's hit 100-plus homers over the past six seasons. In his last nine games before Friday, Gordon is hitting .313 while slugging at .719. The 33-year-old has four doubles and three home runs in that span.

Gordon went 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
This season has been a rough go for the former three-time All-Star, but he now has three home runs in his last eight games after not hitting one for the entire season before June 6. With his batting average now at .195, Gordon is the closest to getting above .200 for the first since April 20, when it was .197. In spite of his struggles at the plate, Gordon has remained as Kansas City's predominant left fielder.

Gordon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
After finally delivering his first home run of the season Tuesday, Gordon will hit the bench following a string of 11 consecutive starts. Whit Merrifield will move over from the keystone to left field to cover defensively for Gordon while the newly recalled Ramon Torres picks up a start at second base.

Gordon went 1-for-3 with his first homer of the year, a walk and two runs against the Astros on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
That's a nice night from your ninth-place hitter, but Gordon's supposed to be more than that. Unfortunately, he's now gone three weeks without a multi-hit game and is still hitting .177 over 51 games. A course correction is probably in the cards, but Gordon's last truly productive campaign from a fantasy perspective, 2014, feels like it was a century ago.
