It will be the first day off for Gordon since before the All-Star break, as the Royals go with Brett Eibner in left field. He'll be flanked by Jerrod Dyson in center, with Paulo Orlando getting the nod in right.

Gordon supplied all the Royals' offense in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Phillies, going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run off Vince Velasquez.
EDGE Analysis
Things haven't gone smoothly for Gordon since he came off the DL in late June, and he's hitting just .229 (8-for-35) in nine games with two homers, three RBI and four runs. The Royals will need him to heat up in the second half if they're going to remain in the AL playoff chase.

Gordon (wrist) went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo homer Saturday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
In his return from the disabled list, which he's been on since May 23, Gordon's fifth homer of the year did little to help the Royals in a blowout loss. Before being sidelined, he was only slashing .211/.319/.331, but if he can remain healthy, he has the ability to provide fantasy teams a mid-season boost.

Gordon is in the lineup Saturday against the Astros, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon was activated from the disabled list earlier in the day, and he'll return to the lineup immediately, starting in left field and batting second in the order. He'll be flanked by Lorenzo Cain in center, while Paulo Orlando gets the nod in right.

Gordon was officially activated from the disabled list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Gordon will rejoin the Royals after missing more than a full month with a sprained right wrist. Kansas City is yet to release a lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Astros, but it's certainly possible that Gordon could return to action immediately. In a corresponding move, the Royals optioned Brett Eibner to Triple-A Omaha.

Gordon (wrist) is expected to return Saturday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Ned Yost says that Gordon will probably return on Saturday, however, it isn't definite at this point in time. While on his rehab assignment at Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Gordon has gone 4-for-11 with a double and home run.

Gordon (wrist) could return over the weekend, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon is just two games into his rehab assignment, but manager Ned Yost has liked what he's seen in that time, as the 32-year-old is 3-for-6 with a home run at the Double-A level. The initial plan was for Gordon to play in about five or six rehab games, so given his progress, he appears to be on track to finish that out in time to rejoin the Royals for their weekend set against the Astros.

Gordon (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday at Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
EDGE Analysis
Placed on the DL nearly a month ago, Gordon is nearing the end of his rehab from a sprained right wrist. Manager Ned Yost intimated earlier in the week that he wants Gordon to get 20-25 at-bats during this stint, so he'll likely play in at least five or six games between Double-A and Triple-A before returning to the Royals.

Gordon (wrist) will likely begin his rehab Sunday at Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon now has a set date for the start of his rehab assignment as he comes back from a broken wrist that's sidelined him for nearly a month. Royals' manager Ned Yost reportedly said that he wants Gordon to make 20-25 at-bats, beginning at Double-A Northwest Arkansas and then moving up to Triple-A Omaha later in the week. The 32-year-old is currently maintaining the lowest batting average of his career (.211).
