Brad Boxberger will be activated from the DL on Monday, but will be eased back to the closer role. Thus Colome could hang on to the job just a little longer.
EDGE Analysis
Colome has done great in the role, saving 12 games while posting a 1.23 ERA and 0.773 WHIP over 22 innings with a 29:4 K:BB ratio. Even when Boxberger ultimately reclaims the role, Colome could have value, as Boxberger struggled with his control last season.

Colome pitched two scoreless innings while allowing one hit and striking out two to earn his 12th save Tuesday at the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Colome came into the game with a two-run lead and two runners on with nobody out in the eighth inning. After allowing one inherited runner to score in the inning, he set the side down in order in the ninth inning to close out the win. He's now held opponents scoreless over his last 10 outings to lower his ERA to 1.29.

Colome worked around one hit, striking out a pair over a scoreless inning to record his 11th save in the Rays' win over Detroit on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Colome has provided solid work at the end of the Rays' bullpen, but with Brad Boxberger due back off the disabled list soon, he will reportedly move back to a set-up role. That will be a big hit to his fantasy value, but if Boxberger should struggle, he has proven he is up to the job.

Colome faced four batters and struck out three of them en route to his 10th save of the season Wednesday against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Remember when Colome was just an interim closer, the man at the head of a committee with Brad Boxberger on the DL? Well, 16 appearances into 2016, Colome's putting up the best results we've ever seen from him in his first campaign as a full-time reliever. He's struck out a mighty impressive 24 batters in 17.1 innings while keeping runners off the bases (0.87 WHIP) and limiting the long ball. All in all, he's been spectacular, and multi-strikeout outings like his last three will help build his case to retain the closer job even when Boxberger returns from his rehab assignment, which could be within the next week.

Colome struck out one during a spotless ninth inning to earn his ninth save of the season Sunday versus the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
It was quite a series for Colome's fantasy stock, as he recorded three saves and allowed just one baserunner in three innings. Colome is now 9-for-9 in save opportunities this season with a sharp 2.06 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, and his comfortability as the club's closer could give them something to think about as Brad Boxberger makes his way back from injury.

Colome nailed down his eighth save of the season, retiring the side in order during the ninth to help the Rays beat the Angels 4-2.
EDGE Analysis
After striking out the leadoff batter, Angels first baseman C.J. Cron singled, but Colome erased him with a double play ball to end the game. He is now 8-for-8 in save opportunities with a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP while filling in at closer for Brad Boxberger, who underwent core muscle surgery in March. It will be very interesting to see what manager Kevin Cash does with the ninth-inning role once Boxberger returns. He is set to begin his rehab assignment next week.

Colome secured his seventh save with a perfect ninth inning against the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
He induced a ground ball and struck out two to retire the side. Colome threw nine of his 11 pitches for strikes and recorded three swing-and-misses. He is now 7-for-7 in save opportunities with a 2.45 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 11 innings.

Colome secured his sixth save by pitching an inning of one-hit ball in Wednesday's 8-5 victory over the Dodgers. He also recorded a pair of strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
It was a nice bounce-back effort for the hard-throwing reliever, who'd given up a homer and a pair of earned runs to the Blue Jays in less than an inning last Sunday. Colome is a perfect six-for-six in save opportunities this season, and as expected, has been the defacto closer while Brad Boxberger (abdomen) continues his recovery. Factoring out the aforementioned outing versus Toronto, Colome has only surrendered one other earned run all season, owns a stellar 12:3 K:BB ratio.

Colome recorded the final two outs of Tuesday's game against the Orioles to earn his fifth save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
He got Mark Trumbo swinging and J.J. Hardy to ground out to preserve a 3-1 Rays win. After Tuesday's successful conversion, Colome is now a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities this season with a 9:2 K:BB in 8.1 innings. The 27-year-old has emerged as the clear go-to endgame option in Tampa Bay. Brad Boxberger (abdomen) was just recently cleared to resume baseball activities.

Colome received his fourth save when he recorded the final out of the ninth Monday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays played matchups in the ninth inning against Baltimore, as righty Erasmus Ramirez handled Adam Jones and lefty Xavier Cedeno took out Chris Davis before Cedeno was left to clean things up. He did so with five pitches as Mark Trumbo grounded out to third to close out the game. This marks Colome's second straight save of less than a full inning as he is reaping the benefits of Tampa's closer-by-committee approach with Brad Boxberger out.
